Doha, Qatar
Skyline Nexus ERP gives Doha contractors, government suppliers and property companies one system for projects, maintenance, leases, stock and Arabic-English invoices.
Qatar has no VAT and no e-invoicing mandate as of October 2026, and this page explains what a Doha invoice must still show.

Doha at a glance
Doha Municipality had about 1.2 million people at Qatar's 2020 census, and the capital is the base for ministries, head offices and their contractors. West Bay holds ministries, energy companies and corporate towers, Msheireb has become a mixed-use business district, the Industrial Area is home to workshops and contractors, and Lusail next door adds new towers and communities.
Companies register through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry's single window, join Qatar Chamber, and file corporate income tax and withholding tax on the General Tax Authority's Dhareeba portal. Firms in the Qatar Financial Centre or the free zones register with those bodies instead. For Doha SMEs the hard part is running large-client contracts with tight documentation, which is where Skyline Nexus ERP's projects, maintenance and ledger work together.
The energy sector keeps a long chain of Doha-based contractors busy: fabrication and maintenance firms, manpower suppliers, inspection companies and equipment renters working for the operators. Contracts may be priced in US dollars or riyals, invoices must match purchase orders and service tickets line by line, and foreign subcontractors raise withholding-tax questions.
Skyline Nexus ERP runs each contract as a project with budgets, milestones and material requisitions, holds spares per yard with FIFO costing and keeps equipment on preventive maintenance through CMMS. Invoices can be issued in US dollars at a rate you enter while the ledger stays in riyals. Withholding tax on foreign suppliers is filed on Dhareeba, outside Skyline Nexus, but the underlying payments sit in its ledger.
Ministries and state-owned companies in Doha are major buyers of facilities management, IT, catering and construction services. Their contracts expect Arabic documentation, and the General Tax Authority may ask for Arabic too. Suppliers live with long payment cycles, performance bonds and detailed handover files, so cash planning matters as much as winning the bid.
Skyline Nexus ERP prints bilingual Arabic-English invoices showing the Arabic trade name and Commercial Registration number, tracks each contract as a project, and lists unpaid government invoices in AR ageing from current to over 90 days. Treasury's Daily Cash Position and scheduled payments help a Doha supplier plan around slow receipts, and CRM keeps tenders and proposals in one place.
From Lusail's new districts to the towers of West Bay, Doha's built environment needs builders, MEP subcontractors, landlords and facilities managers. Contractors bill progress against milestones and hold retentions; landlords manage units, leases and service requests; FM firms run planned maintenance on contracts measured by response times.
Skyline Nexus ERP covers each role: projects with milestones, budgets and contracts for builders; buildings, units and leases in BMS for landlords; and CMMS work orders, preventive maintenance and permits for FM teams, with FMS recording floors and spaces. Each Doha building or contract can be a cost centre, so the Profit and Loss shows which ones earn money.
Compliance
Qatar has no VAT (as of Oct 2026) and no mandatory e-invoicing yet, although the Cabinet approved a draft e-invoicing law in May 2026. Invoices must show your trade name and CR number in Arabic. Consumer invoices must be in Arabic with prices in QAR. Keep records for 10 years. Corporate income tax (10%, on the foreign-owned share) and 5% withholding tax are filed on Dhareeba, outside Nexus.
No VAT in Qatar: set line tax to 0/none and title the document 'Invoice', not 'Tax Invoice'.
Print your Arabic trade name and Commercial Registration number on every invoice; companies also print legal form, head office and capital.
Consumer invoices: Arabic (bilingual allowed), price in QAR, unit, quantity, delivery date, stamp/signature and serial numbers.
Invoices are numbered in sequence and locked after posting; correct them with credit notes.
Keep invoices and books for 10 years and keep an exported copy available in Qatar for the GTA.
Paying a foreign supplier with no Qatar tax card? Withhold 5% and file it on Dhareeba by the 16th of next month (Nexus does not file this).
No Qatar e-invoicing connection yet; the law is still a draft. No QR code is required.

Qatar has no VAT as of October 2026, so a Doha invoice is titled Invoice, not Tax Invoice, with no tax lines or QR code. It must show the Arabic trade name and Commercial Registration number, and companies add legal form, head office and capital. Consumer invoices are in Arabic, bilingual if you like, with prices in QAR. Invoices are numbered in sequence and corrected by credit notes.
The Cabinet approved a draft e-invoicing law in May 2026, but no model or date has been published, so nothing has to change yet. Skyline Nexus ERP has no Qatar e-invoicing connection; it issues printed and PDF invoices that meet today's rules. Keep invoices and books for 10 years, and withhold 5% from foreign suppliers without a Qatar tax card, filing by the 16th of the next month on Dhareeba.
Doha companies can switch at any month end, since there is no VAT period to align with. Skyline Nexus ERP imports contacts with opening balances, products, opening stock, the chart of accounts and assets from spreadsheet templates, and the Generic chart template is a sensible start where Saudi or UAE tax accounts are not needed.
Use the free trial to set up an invoice layout without tax, issue a contract invoice in US dollars and check the result in riyals. Support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail in English; there is no office in Qatar. Contractors with several live projects and landlords with large portfolios should book a demo first.

The invoice must still show the Arabic trade name and Commercial Registration number, and consumer invoices must be in Arabic with prices in QAR.
Not yet. As of October 2026, Qatar has no mandatory e-invoicing. The Cabinet approved a draft e-invoicing law in May 2026, but the model and timeline have not been published. A Doha company can keep issuing printed or PDF invoices, and Skyline Nexus ERP has no Qatar e-invoicing connection at present.
Yes. A Doha contractor can run each energy-sector contract as a project in Skyline Nexus ERP, with budgets, milestones, material requisitions and costs, and compare actual spend with budget. Spares are held per yard, equipment is maintained through CMMS, and contract invoices can be issued in US dollars while the ledger stays in riyals.
Skyline Nexus ERP manages facilities contracts through CMMS work orders, maintenance requests, preventive maintenance and permits, with FMS for buildings, floors and spaces. A Doha FM company can run each client contract as a cost centre or project and see its margin in the Profit and Loss.
Yes. Consumer invoices in Qatar must be in Arabic, and a bilingual Arabic-English layout is allowed. Skyline Nexus ERP lets a Doha business design bilingual layouts per location, and the interface runs in English or Arabic, with every ledger account carrying a name in both languages.
No. Withholding tax of 5% on payments to foreign suppliers without a Qatar tax card is filed on the Dhareeba portal by the 16th of the following month, outside Skyline Nexus ERP. A Doha business records the supplier payment and the amount withheld in its ledger, then files the return itself.
A Doha company starts a free trial of Skyline Nexus ERP, imports contacts, products and stock from the spreadsheet templates, sets tax rates to none and builds a bilingual invoice layout. Prices are shown on this page, and contractors or landlords with large portfolios can book a demo instead.
