Manama at a glance
Bahrain's Capital Governorate, which includes Manama, had around 550,000 residents at the 2020 census (Information & eGovernment Authority), yet it hosts much of the kingdom's business life. Bahrain Financial Harbour and Bahrain Bay hold banks and advisers, Seef combines malls with offices, Juffair mixes hotels, apartments and restaurants, and the Diplomatic Area keeps ministries and long-established firms.
Commercial registration runs through the Sijilat portal, membership through the Bahrain Chamber, and VAT through the National Bureau for Revenue, while Tamkeen offers SME support programmes. The admin pain is getting every mandatory invoice detail right, since invoice failures are the NBR's most common fine. Skyline Nexus ERP builds the required fields into each Manama location's invoice layout.
Banks, insurers, payment companies and fintech start-ups cluster around the Financial Harbour and Seef, and alongside them work the advisers, IT suppliers and service firms that depend on them. For all of these, the books must stand up to regulators and auditors, and controls matter more than speed. Small finance teams still need month-end packs that an external auditor will accept.
Skyline Nexus ERP requires journals above a set amount to be submitted and approved before posting, logs each change with user, time and old and new values, and lets finance soft-close or lock each period. Cost centres separate product lines, related companies can be consolidated, and the Connector API exposes contacts, products and sales data to a Manama fintech's own systems.
Bapco's refinery and Alba's smelter anchor an industrial supply chain of engineering contractors, spare-parts stockists, scaffolding firms and transport companies, some based in the Bahrain International Investment Park. Their work is maintenance-heavy, safety-driven and documented down to every permit and part, and buyers check invoices against purchase orders before paying.
Skyline Nexus ERP covers that work with CMMS work orders, permits and preventive maintenance, an asset register for tools and plant, and stock per store with FIFO costing. The EHS module records incidents, hazards and corrective actions, and each maintenance contract can run as a project with a budget. Invoices to these industrial buyers print with every Article 52 detail.
Bahrain International Airport and the King Fahd Causeway make Manama a gateway to Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province, and the capital hosts forwarders, warehouses and light manufacturers that use that link. Goods cross the land border daily, customers pay in dinars and riyals, and a single delay at the causeway can upset a whole week of deliveries.
Skyline Nexus ERP issues invoices in Saudi riyals or another currency at a rate you enter, while VAT and the books stay in dinars at the Central Bank of Bahrain rate you record. Warehouses hold stock per location with tracked transfers, MES handles bills of materials and production orders for small plants, and Logistics and Customs Clearance modules sit beside purchasing.

Keep records 5 years (15 for real estate) in Arabic or English; no rule found requiring storage inside Bahrain.

Bahrain's VAT rate has been 10% since 1 January 2022, and registration is mandatory above BHD 37,500 of annual supplies. A full tax invoice must carry the 14 details in Article 52 of the Executive Regulations, all in dinars. Customers who are not registered, or supplies of BHD 500 or less, can receive a simplified invoice under Article 53. Invoices are due by the 15th of the following month.
As of October 2026 there is no e-invoicing mandate and no invoice QR code; the NBR tendered a central platform in 2023 but has published no dates, so PDF and paper tax invoices remain valid. Skyline Nexus ERP has no NBR connection and does not need one today. Keep records for 5 years, or 15 for real estate, in Arabic or English.
Quarter-start is the natural moment for a Manama company to switch, because the first VAT return then comes entirely from the new system. Customer and supplier balances, products, stock, the chart of accounts and assets all load into Skyline Nexus ERP from spreadsheet templates, and GL opening balances must balance before the screen accepts them.
Run the free trial with real invoices to check the Article 52 details, a credit note and a foreign-currency sale. Support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail in English; there is no office in Bahrain. Finance houses with several entities and industrial suppliers with large stores should book a demo first.
No. As of October 2026, Bahrain has no e-invoicing mandate and no invoice QR requirement. The National Bureau for Revenue tendered a central platform in 2023 but has published no dates, and since November 2023 VAT-registered businesses may issue and store electronic invoices without prior approval. Manama businesses can keep issuing PDF or paper tax invoices from Skyline Nexus ERP.
A Manama shop can issue a simplified VAT invoice when the customer is not VAT-registered or the supply is BHD 500 or less, under Article 53 of the Executive Regulations. Larger supplies to registered customers need a full tax invoice with all 14 Article 52 details. Skyline Nexus ERP supports separate layouts for each.
Skyline Nexus ERP suits a Manama financial firm that needs approval limits on journals, an audit trail with old and new values, locked periods and consolidation of related companies. The Connector API shares contacts, products and sales data with other systems, while the general ledger itself is used through the screens and exports.
Yes. An industrial supplier serving plants near Manama can run each maintenance contract as a project in Skyline Nexus ERP, raise CMMS work orders and permits, schedule preventive maintenance, and record incidents and corrective actions in the EHS module. Spare parts are held per store with FIFO costing.
Yes. Bahrain accepts tax invoices in Arabic or English, and the NBR may ask for an Arabic translation. Skyline Nexus ERP prints English or bilingual Arabic-English layouts, and a Manama business keeps its records in either language for the required 5 years.
A Manama company can set the invoice currency to Saudi riyals with an exchange rate on each sale in Skyline Nexus ERP. The ledger and VAT stay in dinars, converted at the Central Bank of Bahrain rate, which Bahraini rules require to be printed on foreign-currency invoices. Rates are entered by hand.
A Manama company usually moves to Skyline Nexus ERP at the start of a VAT quarter. Contacts with balances, products, opening stock, the chart of accounts and assets are imported from spreadsheet templates, and GL opening balances are entered on a screen that requires debits to equal credits.
