Dammam at a glance
Dammam, home to about 1.4 million people (GASTAT 2022 census), is the working capital of the Eastern Province. The 1st and 2nd Industrial Cities hold fabrication shops, plastics and building-materials plants; King Abdulaziz Port moves their inputs and outputs; Al Faisaliyah and the older centre keep the trading offices. Saudi Aramco's headquarters in nearby Dhahran sets the rhythm for a dense web of supplier firms.
Registration runs through the Saudi Business Center, membership through Asharqia Chamber, and VAT through ZATCA. What wears a Dammam owner down is the paperwork that large buyers demand: purchase orders, delivery notes, cleared invoices and maintenance records for every rented asset. Skyline Nexus ERP keeps sales orders, delivery notes, invoices and asset histories in one place, so a dispute can be answered from a single screen.
Supplying the Eastern Province operators means equipment rental fleets, consumables held for call-offs, crews mobilised to sites and contracts that pay against approved service tickets. A Dammam service company may own pumps, generators and compressors worth more than its premises, and each one must be inspected, repaired and ready before the next job is called.
Skyline Nexus ERP registers every rental unit as an asset with its own depreciation method and maintenance history, and the CMMS module schedules preventive maintenance and logs repair work orders before an item goes back out. Each contract or rig job can run as a project with budgets and material requisitions. Standard invoices to the operators are cleared by ZATCA before they reach the buyer, as Phase 2 requires.
Factories in Dammam's industrial cities, and the downstream users of the petrochemical chain that runs north to Jubail, turn resin, steel and cement into pipes, panels, tanks and packaging. Margins depend on accurate bills of materials, scrap control and knowing which machine is this week's bottleneck. Where production is planned on whiteboards and costed after month-end, those answers come too late.
The MES module in Skyline Nexus ERP manages plants, work centres, routings, bills of materials and production work orders, so material consumption and output are recorded as the job runs. Raw materials and finished goods sit in per-location stock with FIFO costing, and CMMS keeps preventive maintenance on extruders, presses and kilns. A Dammam plant manager sees cost and downtime in the same system.
King Abdulaziz Port and the highway east to Bahrain and the wider GCC make Dammam a freight hub, with King Fahd International Airport adding air cargo. Forwarders, customs brokers and trucking firms bill many small jobs a day, often in more than one currency, and chase payments from customers spread across the Gulf. Fuel, tyres and fleet maintenance eat into thin margins.
Skyline Nexus ERP lets a Dammam logistics firm invoice in a foreign currency at a rate it enters while keeping the ledger in riyals, and its Customs Clearance and Logistics modules sit next to sales and purchasing. Trucks and trailers can be managed as assets with CMMS work orders, and the AR Aging Report shows who is late, from current to over 90 days.

For a Dammam industrial supplier the key Phase 2 rule is simple: a standard tax invoice to a VAT-registered buyer is not valid until ZATCA has cleared it, so it carries a cryptographic stamp and QR code before the buyer sees it. VAT is 15%, invoices are in Arabic with any translation alongside, and simplified invoices cover consumers and sales under SAR 1,000.
As of October 2026, ZATCA's Wave 25 covers businesses with VAT revenue over SAR 187,500 in any year from 2022 to 2025, with Fatoora integration due by 1 February 2027. Skyline Nexus ERP completes the CSID onboarding, signs the XML and clears or reports each invoice; filed invoices are locked and corrected by credit or debit notes. Eastern Province firms keep records for at least 6 years.
A Dammam factory or service firm usually migrates in layers: chart of accounts and opening balances first, then products and raw materials with opening stock per site, then the asset register with each machine and rental unit. Skyline Nexus ERP imports each layer from spreadsheet templates, and the GL Opening Balances screen will not save an unbalanced set.
Use the free trial to run one real job from purchase order to cleared invoice and check it on the trial balance. Support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail in English; there is no Eastern Province office. Plants that need routings and bills of materials set up, or contractors with several active plant and rig contracts, should book a demo first.
Yes. Skyline Nexus ERP signs each standard tax invoice and sends it to ZATCA for clearance before it is shared, which is what a Dammam supplier's B2B customers expect under Phase 2. The cleared invoice carries the QR code and can be downloaded as XML. Once cleared, the invoice is frozen and any correction is a credit or debit note.
Skyline Nexus ERP includes an MES module with plants, work centres, routings, bills of materials and production work orders. A Dammam factory records material issues and finished output against each order, holds stock per location with FIFO costing and keeps machines on preventive maintenance in CMMS, so production cost and downtime are visible together.
An equipment rental firm in Dammam can register each pump, generator or compressor as an asset in Skyline Nexus ERP, with depreciation and a full maintenance history. The CMMS module schedules preventive maintenance, raises repair work orders and records warranty claims, so a unit is checked before each mobilisation and its repair cost stays attached to the asset.
A Dammam workshop whose VAT revenue exceeded SAR 187,500 in any year from 2022 to 2025 falls into ZATCA Wave 25, and as of October 2026 must integrate with Fatoora by 1 February 2027. Skyline Nexus ERP handles the onboarding, signing and clearance, so the workshop can start sending cleared invoices well before that date.
A Dammam freight forwarder can set an invoice currency and exchange rate on each sale in Skyline Nexus ERP, so a customer in Bahrain or Kuwait sees amounts in dinars. The ledger stays in Saudi riyals, VAT is computed on the riyal values, and exchange rates are entered manually rather than downloaded.
No. Skyline Nexus ERP offers FIFO and LIFO as stock accounting methods, and there is no weighted average option. FIFO is the IFRS-compatible choice, because IAS 2 does not permit LIFO, so a Dammam plant reporting under IFRS should select FIFO before entering its first purchase.
Skyline Nexus ERP runs in English and Arabic, with interface translations for many other languages, and every ledger account carries both an English and an Arabic name. An Eastern Province finance team can work in English while invoices print with the Arabic details that ZATCA requires and an English translation alongside.
Skyline Nexus ERP is a cloud service run by Skyline Industrial Solution. We have no office in Dammam; support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail.
