Dubai at a glance
The Emirate of Dubai had about 4.6 million residents at the end of 2025 (Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment), and its business map is easy to read. Trading houses still crowd Deira, workshops and showrooms fill Al Quoz, Business Bay and DIFC hold head offices and advisers, and Jebel Ali Free Zone stores goods for customers across the region. Where a company sits decides how it is licensed.
A mainland company is licensed through Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism and joins Dubai Chambers, while free-zone entities register with DMCC, JAFZA, DIFC or another zone authority. Every VAT-registered business reports to the Federal Tax Authority. Skyline Nexus ERP can mark a location as free-zone, filter the ledger by location, and consolidate separate legal entities that are kept as separate businesses.
From electronics wholesalers in Deira to fashion and F&B chains in The Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates, Dubai retail runs on many outlets, fast-moving stock and heavy promotions. Wholesalers sell on credit to retailers across the Gulf and beyond, while chains need every branch to price consistently and close its till correctly each night.
Skyline Nexus ERP gives each Dubai branch its own POS register, invoice numbering and selling-price group, with stock per location and transfers tracked until they are received. Wholesalers get credit limits on customer records, customer statements and AR ageing from current to over 90 days. Sales post to the ledger by location, so each mall outlet has its own profit and loss.
Developers, leasing companies and owners' associations in Dubai manage towers and communities where every unit has its own lease, service charge and maintenance history. The contractors who build them work on long projects with progress billing, retentions and subcontractors. Both need clean VAT records, because some residential property is exempt while commercial space is taxed at the standard 5%.
Skyline Nexus ERP keeps buildings, units and leases in its BMS module, with tenants as contacts, post-dated cheques in Treasury and tenant requests as CMMS work orders. Tax rates are chosen per invoice line, so exempt and standard-rated rent land on the right lines of the VAT report. Contractors run each site as a project with milestones, budgets, material requisitions and contracts.
Jebel Ali, its free zone and Dubai International Airport make logistics one of the emirate's anchor trades. Freight forwarders, warehouse operators and re-export traders juggle goods in bonded storage, customers who pay in many currencies and paperwork that must match each customs declaration. A missing delivery note can hold up a payment for weeks.
Skyline Nexus ERP marks bonded or free-zone locations, records stock per warehouse and supports sales orders, delivery notes and shipments in the sales cycle. A sale can be invoiced in a foreign currency at a rate you enter, while the ledger and VAT stay in AED and the invoice shows the foreign-currency equivalent. Logistics and Customs Clearance modules sit beside purchasing for Dubai forwarders.

UAE VAT is 5%, exports are zero-rated and the TRN has 15 digits. A full tax invoice is needed when the buyer is VAT-registered and the amount exceeds AED 10,000; it must be issued within 14 days of supply and show VAT and the gross total in AED. No QR code is required, and records are kept 5 years, or 15 for real estate. Skyline Nexus ERP prints bilingual tax invoices that meet these rules today.
E-invoicing is on its way. As of October 2026, businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 30 October 2026 and go live on 1 January 2027; everyone else appoints by 31 March 2027 and goes live on 1 July 2027. Skyline Nexus ERP does not yet produce PINT AE files or connect to an ASP, so in-scope Dubai companies would use their provider's portal until a connector exists.
Dubai companies usually switch at the start of a VAT return period. Skyline Nexus ERP imports products, opening stock per warehouse, contacts with balances and credit limits, the chart of accounts and fixed assets from spreadsheet templates, and a UAE chart-of-accounts template is available at set-up as a starting structure your accountant can adapt.
The free trial lets you invoice, receive stock and run a branch for a week before deciding. Support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail in English, with no office in the emirate. Businesses above AED 50 million revenue, which face the earliest e-invoicing date, and groups with several free-zone and mainland entities should book a demo to plan their ASP route alongside the move.
No. As of October 2026, Skyline Nexus ERP prints bilingual UAE tax invoices but does not produce PINT AE e-invoices or connect to an Accredited Service Provider. A Dubai company that falls into the mandate would submit invoices through its provider's portal until a connector is released. B2C sales are outside the UAE e-invoicing scope.
A Dubai business with revenue of AED 50 million or more must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 30 October 2026 and go live on 1 January 2027. Businesses below that line appoint by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027. Penalties include AED 5,000 per month for not implementing the system.
Skyline Nexus ERP manages leases through its BMS module, which holds buildings, units and leases, with each tenant as a contact whose invoices and receipts appear in the Customer Ledger and AR ageing. A Dubai property company tracks post-dated cheques in Treasury and turns tenant requests into CMMS work orders.
Yes. Skyline Nexus ERP gives each outlet its own POS register, cash register report, invoice numbering and default price group, and stock is held per location. A Dubai retail chain can then filter the Trial Balance and Profit and Loss by branch or view all mall outlets consolidated.
A Dubai trader can choose an invoice currency and exchange rate on each sale in Skyline Nexus ERP. The ledger, VAT and reports stay in AED, and the invoice shows the foreign-currency equivalent, in line with the rule that VAT and the gross total appear in AED. Rates are entered by hand.
Skyline Nexus ERP prints bilingual English and Arabic tax invoices, and English alone is accepted in the UAE, although the FTA may ask for an Arabic translation. A Dubai business can choose a different invoice layout for POS receipts and for full tax invoices at each location.
During the Skyline Nexus ERP free trial a Dubai company can import products and customers, invoice in AED and a foreign currency, transfer stock between a free-zone warehouse and a shop, and check the VAT report. Prices are shown on this page, and larger groups can book a demo.
