Kuwait City at a glance
Kuwait City's Capital Governorate had around 575,000 residents at the 2021 census (PACI), but its towers in Sharq and Al Mirqab are the base of banks, ministries and long-established trading families. Shuwaikh's industrial and port area holds workshops, car dealers and warehouses, and Salmiya nearby adds shops and restaurants that serve the wider metropolitan area.
Companies register through the Kuwait Business Center of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, join the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry and deal with the Ministry of Finance on income tax and tax clearance. For an SME the hard part is cash: long payment cycles on public work and 5% retentions held until clearance. Skyline Nexus ERP keeps every open balance visible by customer and by age.
Kuwait's oil companies rely on contractors for maintenance, inspection, manpower, chemicals and equipment rental, often operating from Shuwaikh and from Al Ahmadi to the south. Work is organised in call-offs under long contracts, every job ticket has to match the invoice, and rented equipment must be serviced and ready before each mobilisation.
Skyline Nexus ERP runs each contract or call-off as a project with material requisitions, budgets and costs, and holds spares per store with FIFO costing. Rental units and tools are registered as assets, with CMMS preventive maintenance and work orders before they return to site. A Kuwait City contractor can see, job by job, whether the margin survived the field.
Ministries and public authorities are major customers for Kuwaiti contractors in construction, MEP, cleaning and IT. Contracts come with Arabic documentation, staged payments and the rule that payers hold back 5% of each payment until the contractor shows a Ministry of Finance tax clearance certificate. That retained amount can sit unpaid for a long time if nobody tracks it.
Skyline Nexus ERP keeps each government contract as a project with milestones and budgets and invoices it in Arabic, or in Arabic and English. Partly paid invoices stay open in the Customer Ledger and AR ageing, so the withheld portion remains visible until it is released, and Treasury's scheduled payments and cash position reports help plan around the gap.
Banks, investment companies and the service firms that work for them fill the towers of Sharq and Al Mirqab. Even the smaller ones face audit-grade expectations: approval limits on journals, a full history of changes, period closes that cannot be reopened quietly, and clear books for several related companies owned by the same family.
Skyline Nexus ERP routes journals above a threshold through submit, approve and post, records every change with old and new values in its Audit Trail, and lets periods be soft-closed or locked for good. Related businesses can be consolidated into a group with intercompany eliminations, and the Audit Pack exports a full year to one Excel workbook for a Kuwait City auditor.

Kuwait has no VAT as of October 2026, so invoices carry no tax lines, tax number or QR code, and there is no e-invoicing mandate. An invoice must be in Arabic, with English allowed alongside, and show the seller's name, legal form, CR number, address and phone, plus the date, items, units, quantities, delivery date and prices in Kuwaiti dinars to 3 decimals.
Receipts must not say no return or no exchange, and refunds go back by the original payment method. Foreign companies pay 15% income tax, and multinational groups with revenue of EUR 750m or more face a 15% domestic minimum top-up tax from 1 January 2025. Skyline Nexus ERP prints bilingual Arabic-English layouts; confirm on a test invoice that amounts show all 3 decimals of the dinar.
A Kuwait City firm usually starts with customers and their open invoices, because retentions and long payment cycles make receivables the figure that matters most. Skyline Nexus ERP loads contacts with opening balances and credit limits from a template, followed by products, stock, the chart of accounts and assets, and refuses GL opening balances that do not balance.
Use the free trial to issue an Arabic invoice in dinars, record a part payment with 5% withheld and see the balance in ageing. Support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail in English; there is no office in the country. Contractors with many live projects and finance groups with several companies should book a demo first.
No. Kuwait has no VAT, tax number on invoices, invoice QR code or e-invoicing mandate as of October 2026. A Kuwait City invoice must still be in Arabic, may add English, and must show the seller's details, CR number, items, quantities and prices in Kuwaiti dinars. Skyline Nexus ERP prints such invoices with tax rates set to none.
A Kuwait City contractor can leave the withheld 5% open on each invoice in Skyline Nexus ERP, so it stays visible in the Customer Ledger and the ageing report until the Ministry of Finance clearance certificate is presented and the client releases payment. The Statement of Account shows the client exactly what is still owed.
Yes. An oil-service company in Kuwait City can register pumps, compressors and tools as assets in Skyline Nexus ERP, plan preventive maintenance in CMMS and raise work orders before each mobilisation. Each call-off runs as a project with budgets and material requisitions, so the cost of servicing equipment shows up against the right contract.
Skyline Nexus ERP suits an investment company that needs controlled journals, a full audit trail and group reporting. Journals above a threshold go through approval, periods can be locked, related companies can be consolidated with intercompany eliminations, and the Audit Pack gives a Kuwait City auditor a full year in one workbook.
Skyline Nexus ERP prints Arabic or bilingual Arabic-English invoice layouts, and a Kuwaiti business runs its ledger in dinars as the base currency. Because the dinar has 3 decimals, a Kuwait City business should confirm on a test invoice during the trial that fils are shown in full and never rounded to 2 decimals.
No Kuwaiti e-invoicing deadline has been announced as of October 2026; there is no law, resolution or published timetable from the Ministry of Finance. Kuwait City businesses should watch the GCC project for an electronic system for indirect taxes and any future VAT law, but they can keep issuing printed or PDF invoices today.
Yes. Kuwait City businesses can start a free trial of Skyline Nexus ERP, import customers and products from spreadsheet templates, and issue Arabic invoices in dinars straight away. Prices are shown on this page, and contractors or finance groups with several companies can book a demo instead.
