Sikkim, India
Sikkim's businesses live from tourists, organic farms, pharmaceutical units and government supply, and Skyline Nexus ERP brings their counters, stores and books into one system.
With auto-posting switched on, each final sale posts its own journal, so a Sikkim hotel or shop can read its accounts in the busy season instead of after it.
Plans from $19 per month, plus VAT where it applies · Prices shown in USD; we do not publish a price list for India yet.

Sikkim at a glance
Sikkim is a small Himalayan State with a business life shaped by the seasons. Gangtok's MG Marg and Lal Bazaar hold shops, restaurants and travel desks, Pelling, Namchi and North Sikkim fill with visitors, and Rangpo and Singtam on the road from the plains host trade and factories. Pakyong airport and the highway to Siliguri carry people and goods.
A Sikkim firm registers for GST under State code 11; the Commercial Tax Division of the State Finance Department administers State tax, while the Commerce and Industries Department promotes units. Gangtok Municipal Corporation, under the Urban Development Department, handles town trade. Owners juggle a short peak season, supplies trucked in from the plains and many cash and card sales.
A Gangtok hotel usually runs a restaurant and bar, buys food and supplies from Siliguri, and sells most of its rooms through travel agents in the peak months. Homestays in West and South Sikkim are smaller, but the owner still has to track groceries, bills and agent commissions without a full-time accountant.
Skyline Nexus ERP covers the restaurant side with a POS, cash registers and restaurant and kitchen features, and keeps food and beverage stock with FIFO or LIFO costing. Purchases from suppliers post to payables, and a second property becomes another location with its own invoice numbering. Skyline Nexus has no room-booking module, so reservations stay in the existing system.
Sikkim farms organically, and its cash crops include large cardamom, ginger, turmeric, oranges and flowers such as orchids. Between farmer and buyer sit cooperatives, aggregators and small processors that buy in season, dry or pack the produce, and sell it to traders in Siliguri and beyond.
Skyline Nexus ERP records seasonal purchases, stock by product and grade, and credit sales with receivable ageing. Bills of materials and work orders handle drying and packing into retail packs. Cost centres separate a processing unit from trading, and budgets against actuals help a Sikkim cooperative check a season's spending.
Consider an MG Marg shop in Gangtok selling woollens and local handicrafts. With a typical billing app, GST bills print and stock is counted, but the books are often kept by an accountant elsewhere, in another package or a spreadsheet, so the trial balance comes together at month or year end. Credit-book apps record dues but not stock or a double-entry ledger.
Separate accounting packages do the books properly, but someone has to carry each day's shop takings across by export or by typing. Skyline Nexus ERP removes that step once Auto-post Sales Transactions is enabled: a final sale writes one balanced entry covering revenue, output tax, cost of goods and the stock reduction, and purchases, payments and expenses are posted alike. The Gangtok shop's trial balance, P&L and balance sheet are then up to date.
India tax integration
Sikkim has GST State code 11: every GSTIN registered in Sikkim starts with 11. Sales inside Sikkim carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.
E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.
E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.
Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.
Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

Sikkim GSTINs open with 11. A sale within Sikkim carries CGST and SGST at half the rate each, while goods sent to Siliguri or elsewhere in India carry IGST at the full rate. Registration is due above INR 20 lakh aggregate turnover, and unlike most States, the INR 40 lakh goods-only threshold does not apply in Sikkim.
In Skyline Nexus ERP you create tax groups such as CGST 9% plus SGST 9% or IGST 18%, choose the right one per sale yourself, and can print an HSN column from category codes. Sikkim suppliers above INR 5 crore must report B2B invoices for an IRN, which Skyline Nexus does not do yet, and GSTR returns are not prepared in it either.
India onboarding is through the waitlist and a demo, using the Join the waitlist, Book a demo and Ask on WhatsApp buttons. A Sikkim hotel, shop or cooperative should prepare its product or menu list with opening stock as CSV, suppliers and agents with GSTIN and opening balances, a chart of accounts and each property or outlet.
Pick INR and an April start to the financial year, and Skyline Nexus ERP prints dd-mm-yyyy dates and invoice totals in words in lakh and crore. The interface is English, with a Hindi interface translation available for staff who prefer it. Help reaches Sikkim by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail; there is no office in India.
Sikkim's GST State code is 11, so every GSTIN registered in Sikkim begins with it. Skyline Nexus ERP stores the GSTIN on the business and on each contact and prints it on invoices. Skyline Nexus does not validate numbers online, so a Sikkim business should check new GSTINs on the GST portal.
No. The INR 40 lakh registration threshold for suppliers of goods only does not apply in Sikkim, so a Sikkim trader registers above the general INR 20 lakh aggregate turnover. Some suppliers must register regardless of turnover. Skyline Nexus ERP reports turnover from sales but does not decide registration.
A Gangtok hotel restaurant can use the Skyline Nexus ERP POS with cash registers and restaurant and kitchen features, keep food and beverage stock and post every final bill to the books once auto-posting is on. A second Sikkim property becomes another location. Skyline Nexus has no room-booking module.
A Sikkim cardamom or ginger trader can use Skyline Nexus ERP for seasonal purchases, stock by grade, bills of materials for drying and packing, and credit sales with receivable ageing. FIFO or LIFO costing values stock sold. Organic paperwork for buyers stays outside Skyline Nexus, which does not issue those documents.
Many billing apps give a Sikkim shop GST bills and stock counts, while the books are completed later elsewhere. Skyline Nexus ERP posts every final sale, purchase, payment and expense as a balanced journal once auto-posting is on. Some billing apps are ahead today on offline billing, which matters in the hills, and Skyline Nexus does not offer it yet.
Sikkim staff can use Skyline Nexus ERP in English or with the Hindi interface translation. INR is the business currency, dates follow dd-mm-yyyy and invoices can show amounts in words in lakh and crore, which helps when bills go to agents and buyers in the plains.
