Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu at a glance
The Union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu is mostly an industrial territory with a tourist coast. Factories cluster around Silvassa in Dadra, Naroli, Khadoli and Masat, and in Daman at Dabhel, Kachigam and Bhimpore, making plastics, yarn and textiles, pharma, packaging and electrical goods. Diu and the Daman beaches draw weekend visitors, mainly from Gujarat and Mumbai.
Firms in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu register for GST on the common portal, deal with the territory's Department of Taxes and Excise for state-level tax matters, and use the UT Administration's single-window portal for industrial approvals. Many units are branches of companies headquartered in Mumbai or Gujarat, so their books must reconcile with a head office in another State.
A typical unit in the territory converts polymer, yarn or chemicals into finished goods in continuous batches, buys raw material from Vapi, Mumbai or further away, and ships almost everything out by road. Owners need to know yield and cost per batch, the value of stock in the plant at month end, and what each customer and supplier owes.
Skyline Nexus ERP supports a Silvassa or Daman factory with manufacturing work orders, bills of materials and routings, inventory with FIFO or LIFO costing, and purchases and sales that post to the ledger once the accounting toggles are on. CMMS work orders keep machines on schedule, and cost centres per line show which product earns its keep in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
Around the factories sits a ring of distributors selling raw material, packaging, spares and consumables, often on credit and with stock in more than one godown, plus trade links to Vapi and Valsad across the Gujarat border. On the coast, hotels and restaurants in Daman and Diu run busy weekends and quieter weekdays, with bar and kitchen stock to control.
Skyline Nexus ERP lets a distributor treat each godown as a location with its own stock and numbering, with receivable ageing for every factory customer. A Daman or Diu hotel gets POS with restaurant and kitchen features, cash registers per outlet and per-outlet P&L once auto-posting is enabled, so the owner sees whether the weekend trade covers the week.
Picture a packaging distributor in Silvassa supplying units across the territory and in Vapi. Many typical billing apps print GST bills and keep stock counts, but the books often sit in an accountant's package or a spreadsheet, so the trial balance is rebuilt at month or year end. Credit-book apps can list which factory owes what, yet they do not hold stock, purchases or a double-entry ledger.
Separate accounting packages are strong on accounts, but counter sales usually arrive through export or re-keying. In Skyline Nexus ERP, once Auto-post Sales Transactions is switched on, every final POS sale posts a balanced journal for sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory, giving this Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu distributor a current trial balance per branch. Other tools are ahead today in GST filing.
