POS and ERP software for Gujarat businesses with many branches

Skyline Nexus ERP links the shop counter, the godown and the books for Gujarat firms that sell from Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara or Rajkot.

Each final sale can post its own journal, so branch profit and the balance sheet stay current, while GST e-invoicing is still on the roadmap.

Plans from $19 per month, plus VAT where it applies · Prices shown in USD; we do not publish a price list for India yet.

Skyline Nexus ERP cannot yet meet the e-invoicing rules that apply to your business in India. Leave your details and we will contact you when it can.

Doing business in Gujarat

Gujarat is a State of corridors rather than one capital market. The Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat belt carries chemicals, textiles and engineering; Sanand adds automotive suppliers; Ankleshwar and Vapi host dye and pharmaceutical units in GIDC estates; Saurashtra around Rajkot machines engine parts; and Kandla and Mundra move freight. Many owners therefore run a factory in one district, a sales office in another and a depot near a port.

Industrial land and sheds usually come through the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation, while iNDEXTb, the State investment bureau, guides larger projects. GIFT City near Gandhinagar adds a finance zone. Tax registration runs through the GST portal and the Gujarat State Tax department, and shop registration through the municipal corporation of each city where a Gujarat business opens a counter.

Modules Gujarat businesses start with

Manufacturing units across GIDC estates

A typical Gujarat manufacturer buys solvents, yarn or steel in bulk, converts them shift by shift and sells to distributors in other States. The owner wants to know what a batch cost, which plant earns money and how much stock sits in each shed, and units in Vatva, Ankleshwar or Makarpura often move material between plants.

Skyline Nexus ERP covers this with manufacturing work orders, bills of materials and routings, stock held per location with transfers between sites, and FIFO or LIFO costing that feeds cost of goods sold. Cost centres and budget-versus-actual reports separate one Gujarat plant from another. One note: stock transfers do not post to the ledger in Skyline Nexus, so plant results come from sales and purchases.

Wholesale and distribution from Gujarat cities

Gujarat wholesale is about volume and credit. Surat sends sarees and fabric by the bale to retailers across India, Ahmedabad traders deal in cloth, hardware and electronics, and Rajkot workshops supply jewellery. Buyers pay after thirty, sixty or ninety days and prices change by the lot, so receivables decide whether the season was good.

Skyline Nexus ERP keeps customers with their GSTIN, credit terms and opening balance, records every sale against the right branch, and shows receivable ageing by customer. Purchases and supplier payments post journals the same way, so payables age too. The CRM records leads, follow-ups and proposals for new dealers, and the stock report shows each Gujarat location separately.

From POS to balance sheet for a multi-city Gujarat distributor

Take a chemicals distributor with a depot in Ankleshwar, a sales office in Ahmedabad and a counter in Rajkot. Typical billing apps print GST bills and count stock at each counter, but the books often live in an accountant's package or a spreadsheet, so the trial balance is rebuilt at month or year end. Credit-book apps track who owes what, yet not stock, purchases or a full double-entry ledger.

Separate accounting packages keep strong books, but counter sales are exported or re-keyed. In Skyline Nexus ERP, once Auto-post Sales Transactions is switched on, every final sale posts a balanced journal for sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory, and purchases, payments and expenses do the same, so each Gujarat branch has a current trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet. Other tools are ahead today on IRN and return filing, which Skyline Nexus does not offer yet.

India tax integration

Taxes and compliance in India

Gujarat has GST State code 24: every GSTIN registered in Gujarat starts with 24. Sales inside Gujarat carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.

Built in today

  • GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.

  • Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.

  • Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.

  • Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.

  • An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.

  • Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.

  • With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.

  • Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.

Ready for your accountant

  • Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.

  • Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.

  • Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.

  • Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.

Coming or on request (not live today)

  • Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.

  • HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.

  • GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.

  • E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.

  • E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.

  • Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.

  • Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

GST for a Gujarat business

Every GSTIN registered in Gujarat starts with State code 24. A sale from Ahmedabad to a buyer in Surat carries CGST plus SGST at half the rate each, while a sale to Mumbai or Jaipur carries IGST at the full rate. Registration is due above INR 20 lakh aggregate turnover, and suppliers of goods only in Gujarat may use the INR 40 lakh threshold, except for ice cream, pan masala and tobacco.

Gujarat suppliers above INR 5 crore aggregate turnover must report B2B and export invoices to the IRP for an IRN, which Skyline Nexus ERP cannot do yet. In Skyline Nexus you set up tax groups such as CGST 9% plus SGST 9% or IGST 18%, choose the intra-State or inter-State group yourself, and can print an HSN column from the category code. E-way bills and GSTR returns are not produced in Skyline Nexus, and India onboarding is by waitlist and demo.

Getting started from Gujarat

Onboarding for India runs through the waitlist form on this page, a demo call and WhatsApp. A Gujarat firm with several sites should list every plant, depot and shop it wants as a separate location, then prepare the product list with opening stock per location, customers and suppliers with GSTIN and balances, and its chart of accounts.

Skyline Nexus ERP is set up with a financial year starting in April, INR as currency, dd-mm-yyyy dates and invoice totals in words in lakh and crore. Products, opening stock and contacts come in by CSV import. Support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail, and Skyline has no office in India, so Gujarat customers are served remotely.

  1. Map each Gujarat site, from GIDC plant to city counter, as a location with its own invoice numbering.
  2. Import products and opening stock per site by CSV.
  3. Create CGST plus SGST groups for sales inside Gujarat and IGST groups for other States.
  4. Switch on Auto-post Sales Transactions and compare branch trial balances after the first week.

Questions from Gujarat businesses

What State code does a Gujarat GSTIN start with?

A GSTIN registered in Gujarat starts with State code 24. Sales inside Gujarat carry CGST plus SGST, and sales to other States carry IGST. In Skyline Nexus ERP the user creates both tax groups and picks the correct one on each invoice, as Skyline Nexus does not switch groups by place of supply.

When does a Gujarat trader have to register for GST?

A Gujarat trader must register above INR 20 lakh aggregate turnover in a financial year. A supplier of goods only may use the INR 40 lakh threshold, except for ice cream, pan masala and tobacco, and some suppliers must register whatever their turnover. Skyline Nexus ERP records the GSTIN on the business and on every customer.

Can a manufacturer with plants in two Gujarat GIDC estates use Skyline Nexus ERP?

Yes. A manufacturer can set up each GIDC plant as a location in Skyline Nexus ERP, with stock held per plant, transfers between plants, work orders, bills of materials and routings. Profit and loss and the trial balance filter by location, although stock transfers themselves do not post to the ledger in Skyline Nexus.

Does Skyline Nexus ERP suit a Gujarat distributor selling on credit to other States?

Skyline Nexus ERP records each customer with GSTIN, credit terms and opening balance and shows receivable ageing. For buyers in other States the user picks the IGST group on the invoice. A Gujarat distributor above INR 5 crore turnover still needs IRN e-invoicing outside Skyline Nexus, because Skyline Nexus does not support it yet.

How is Skyline Nexus ERP different from a billing app for a Gujarat shop?

Many billing apps print GST bills and count stock while the books are kept elsewhere. Skyline Nexus ERP, once auto-posting is switched on, posts each final sale as a balanced journal, so a Gujarat shop sees its trial balance and balance sheet without re-keying. Some billing apps are ahead today on IRN and return filing, which Skyline Nexus does not do yet.

Is Skyline Nexus ERP available in Hindi and in rupees?

Skyline Nexus ERP runs in English with a Hindi interface translation available, and INR is an available business currency. Dates can be set to dd-mm-yyyy and invoice totals can be written in words in lakh and crore. The ledger keeps one base currency, which suits firms that bill in rupees.

How does a Gujarat company start with Skyline Nexus ERP?

A Gujarat company joins the India waitlist on this page, books a demo or asks on WhatsApp. It helps to prepare products with opening stock, contacts with GSTIN and balances, a chart of accounts and the branch list, which Skyline Nexus ERP then imports by CSV.

Skyline Nexus ERP is a cloud service run by Skyline Industrial Solution. We have no office in Gujarat; support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail.
