Maharashtra, India
Skyline Nexus ERP links the shop counter, the warehouse and the general ledger for businesses that operate across Maharashtra, from the Mumbai region to Pune, Nashik and Nagpur.
Branch-wise trial balance, P&L and balance sheet come from the same postings, while GST e-invoicing and returns are not live yet and India onboarding runs by waitlist and demo.

Maharashtra at a glance
Maharashtra is rarely a one-city market for a growing firm. A distributor may buy through the ports at Mumbai and Jawaharlal Nehru Port, store goods in the Bhiwandi warehousing cluster, and sell through depots in Pune, Nashik and Nagpur. Manufacturers sit in MIDC areas such as the Pune-Chakan auto belt and the Nashik-Sinnar estates.
Most Maharashtra firms register for GST on the common GST portal, take a company or LLP registration through the Ministry of Corporate Affairs where needed, and deal with MIDC for plots and the local municipal corporation for trade licences. The admin pain is familiar: several branches, one GSTIN, and books that must agree across all of them.
A component maker in Chakan or Sinnar typically supplies larger plants in Pune, Nashik or Aurangabad, buys steel, castings and plastics on credit from local vendors, and has to know what each job really cost. Batches move from raw material to work in progress to finished stock.
Skyline Nexus ERP covers this with a manufacturing module for work orders, bills of materials and routings, inventory with FIFO or LIFO costing that drives cost of goods sold, and purchases that post to the ledger once the accounting toggles are on. Cost centres and budgets against actuals let a Maharashtra plant owner compare a line or a shift with its plan instead of waiting for the year-end accounts.
Wholesale in Maharashtra runs on long credit chains: a Mumbai or Navi Mumbai stockist supplies dealers in Pune and Nashik, who supply retailers in smaller towns, and APMC traders handle onions, grapes, pulses and oranges. Each level juggles credit, rate lists and stock across godowns.
In Skyline Nexus ERP each depot can be a business location with its own invoice numbering, invoice layout and stock, users can be limited to their own branch, and stock transfers move goods between locations. Stock transfers do not post to the ledger, but sales, purchases and payments do. Receivable ageing shows which Maharashtra dealer is late.
Take a Maharashtra distributor with a counter in Pune and a depot in Nagpur. Many typical billing apps print GST bills and keep stock counts well, but the books are often kept elsewhere, in an accountant's package or a spreadsheet, so the trial balance is rebuilt at month or year end. Ledger-only credit-book apps record who owes what, but not stock, purchases or a full double-entry ledger.
Separate accounting packages keep strong books, yet counter sales are often re-keyed. In Skyline Nexus ERP, once Auto-post Sales Transactions is switched on, every final POS sale posts a balanced journal for sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory, so the trial balance, P&L and balance sheet stay current and can be filtered by branch. Some other tools are ahead today on GST filing, as the next section explains.
India tax integration
Maharashtra has GST State code 27: every GSTIN registered in Maharashtra starts with 27. Sales inside Maharashtra carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.
E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.
E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.
Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.
Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

Every GSTIN registered in Maharashtra starts with State code 27. Sales inside Maharashtra carry CGST plus SGST at half the rate each, while sales to another State carry IGST at the full rate. Registration is due above INR 20 lakh aggregate turnover, or INR 40 lakh for suppliers of goods only, except ice cream, pan masala and tobacco.
In Skyline Nexus ERP you set up GST rates as tax groups, for example CGST 9% plus SGST 9% or IGST 18% and choose the intra-State or inter-State group yourself; an HSN column can print from the category code. Suppliers above INR 5 crore aggregate turnover must report B2B invoices to the IRP for an IRN, which Skyline Nexus does not do yet. E-way bills, GSTR returns and automatic place-of-supply switching are not live yet.
India onboarding for Skyline Nexus ERP currently runs through the India waitlist on this page and a demo; the buttons say Join the waitlist, Book a demo and Ask on WhatsApp. A multi-branch Maharashtra firm should prepare its product list and opening stock per location for CSV import, its contacts with GSTIN and opening balances, its chart of accounts and its list of branches.
The business is set up in INR with a financial year starting in April, dates in dd-mm-yyyy format and invoice amounts in words in the Indian system of lakh and crore. Support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail; there is no office in India. Firms that need IRN e-invoicing from day one should wait on the waitlist rather than switch now.
A business registered in Maharashtra has a GSTIN starting with State code 27. Sales inside Maharashtra are taxed as CGST plus SGST, and sales to customers in other States are taxed as IGST. In Skyline Nexus ERP the user creates both tax groups and picks the right one on the sale, because automatic place-of-supply switching is not available yet.
A Maharashtra trader must register for GST once aggregate turnover passes INR 20 lakh in a financial year. A supplier of goods only may use the INR 40 lakh threshold, except for ice cream, pan masala and tobacco. Some suppliers must register regardless of turnover under section 24 of the CGST Act.
Skyline Nexus ERP includes manufacturing with work orders, bills of materials and routings, plus inventory costed by FIFO or LIFO. A unit in a Maharashtra MIDC estate can track raw material, finished goods and purchases in one system, with ledger postings once an administrator switches on the accounting toggles.
Skyline Nexus ERP treats each depot as a business location with its own stock, invoice numbering and layout. A distributor with depots in Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur can transfer stock between them and run the trial balance, P&L and balance sheet per branch or consolidated. Stock transfers themselves do not post to the general ledger.
Many billing apps for a Maharashtra shop print GST bills and keep stock, while the books are often kept elsewhere. Skyline Nexus ERP posts each final POS sale as a balanced journal once auto-posting is on, so the trial balance and balance sheet stay current. Some billing apps are ahead today on IRN e-invoicing and GSTR filing, which Skyline Nexus does not offer yet.
Skyline Nexus ERP has an English interface and a Hindi interface translation is available, among many other languages. A Maharashtra business can use INR as its currency, dd-mm-yyyy dates and invoice amounts in words in lakh and crore. The ledger works in a single base currency.
A Maharashtra company starts with Skyline Nexus ERP by joining the India waitlist or booking a demo from this page. The team then helps import products, opening stock, contacts with GSTIN and the chart of accounts by CSV. Support runs by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail, and there is no office in India.
Skyline Nexus ERP is a cloud service run by Skyline Industrial Solution. We have no office in Maharashtra; support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail.
