Goa at a glance
Goa is a small State with a distinct mix. Tourism fills the coast from the Calangute-Baga belt to Colva and Palolem; the Goa Industrial Development Corporation runs estates at Verna, Kundaim, Corlim and Tivim for pharma, electronics and food units; Mormugao Port at Vasco da Gama handles bulk cargo; and the markets of Panaji, Mapusa and Margao serve residents and visitors alike.
A Goa business registers for GST on the common portal, takes company or LLP registration with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs where it incorporates, applies to the Goa Industrial Development Corporation for an industrial plot, and, in hospitality, registers with the Department of Tourism of the Government of Goa. Seasonal staff and seasonal stock make the admin uneven across the year.
The Goa tourist season runs roughly from October to May, with a peak around Christmas and New Year. A hotel group or a restaurant owner may run two or three outlets along the coast, each with its own kitchen, bar stock and cash, and close or slow down in the monsoon. Stock of liquor, seafood and dry goods must be controlled closely, because wastage eats the margin quickly.
Skyline Nexus ERP gives Goa hospitality businesses POS with restaurant and kitchen features, a business location per outlet with its own cash registers, numbering and stock, and stock transfers from a central store. Once auto-posting is enabled, each final bill posts to the ledger, and the P&L per outlet shows which beach restaurant carried the season.
Goa's industrial estates host pharmaceutical formulators, electronics assemblers, food processors and engineering units, many of them supplying customers outside Goa. They buy raw material and packaging in lots, ship most output by road to other States, and need batch costs and stock values that agree with the books when auditors visit.
Skyline Nexus ERP supports a Goa factory with manufacturing work orders, bills of materials and routings, inventory costed by FIFO or LIFO, purchases posting to the ledger once switched on, and CMMS maintenance work orders for plant and equipment. Cost centres and budgets against actuals help a Verna or Kundaim unit see where a product line is losing money.
Think of a family that runs a restaurant in Candolim, a bakery in Mapusa and a wine and grocery store in Margao. Many typical billing apps print GST bills and track stock at each counter, but the accounts are often kept by an accountant in another package, so the trial balance is rebuilt after the season. Credit-book apps record supplier dues but not stock or a double-entry ledger.
Separate accounting packages are strong on books, yet sales from three counters must be exported or typed in. In Skyline Nexus ERP, with Auto-post Sales Transactions switched on, each final POS sale posts a balanced journal for sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory, so this Goa family reads a current trial balance and balance sheet per outlet. Other tools are ahead today in GST filing.
India tax integration
Goa has GST State code 30: every GSTIN registered in Goa starts with 30. Sales inside Goa carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.
E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.
E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.
Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.
Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

Goa's GST State code is 30, so every GSTIN registered in Goa starts with 30. Sales within Goa carry CGST plus SGST at half the rate each, while a Goa factory shipping to Maharashtra or Karnataka charges IGST at the full rate. Registration is due above INR 20 lakh aggregate turnover, or INR 40 lakh for suppliers of goods only, except ice cream, pan masala and tobacco.
Skyline Nexus ERP lets you set up GST tax groups, for example CGST 9% plus SGST 9% or IGST 18%, and you pick the intra-State or inter-State group yourself; HSN can print from the category code. A Goa manufacturer above INR 5 crore must obtain an IRN from the IRP for B2B and export invoices, which Skyline Nexus does not do yet, and e-way bills and GSTR returns are not live yet.
For now Skyline Nexus ERP onboards Indian businesses through the India waitlist on this page and a demo, using the Join the waitlist, Book a demo and Ask on WhatsApp buttons. A Goa business should prepare its menu or product list with opening stock per outlet or store, contacts with GSTIN and opening balances, its chart of accounts and a list of outlets.
The account runs in INR with a financial year from April, dd-mm-yyyy dates and amounts in words in lakh and crore on invoices. Support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail, and there is no office in India. A good moment for a Goa restaurant to switch is before the season opens, not in the middle of the Christmas rush.
A Goa business uses GST State code 30, so its GSTIN starts with 30. Sales inside Goa carry CGST plus SGST and sales to other States carry IGST. In Skyline Nexus ERP both are set up as tax groups and the user chooses the right one, because automatic place-of-supply switching is not available yet.
A seasonal shack or restaurant in Goa needs GST registration once its aggregate turnover in the financial year passes INR 20 lakh, because restaurant service is a supply of services and the INR 40 lakh goods-only threshold does not apply. Some suppliers must register regardless of turnover under section 24 of the CGST Act.
Skyline Nexus ERP can run several restaurants in Goa by giving each one a business location with its own cash registers, invoice numbering and stock, plus restaurant and kitchen features at the POS. The P&L and balance sheet can be filtered per restaurant or shown for the whole group.
Skyline Nexus ERP is suitable for a pharma or electronics unit in Verna, Goa, that needs work orders, bills of materials, routings and FIFO or LIFO inventory costing in the same books as its sales. Batch-level regulatory records are outside the scope described here, so discuss them in a demo.
For a Goa shop or bakery, a billing app usually covers the bill and the stock, while the accountant keeps the books apart. Skyline Nexus ERP links the two: with Auto-post Sales Transactions on, every final sale posts its journal. Billing apps that already offer IRN e-invoicing or GSTR exports are ahead there, as Skyline Nexus does not have them yet.
Skyline Nexus ERP works in English with a Hindi interface translation available, so Goa teams can choose. Konkani and Marathi are not promised here. The business currency can be INR, dates can be dd-mm-yyyy, and invoices can print the amount in words in lakh and crore.
A Goa business can join the India waitlist or book a demo for Skyline Nexus ERP at any time, but tourism businesses usually move before the season begins in October. Items, opening stock, contacts with GSTIN and the chart of accounts are imported by CSV, with support by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail and no office in India.
Skyline Nexus ERP is a cloud service run by Skyline Industrial Solution. We have no office in Goa; support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail.
