Nagpur at a glance
Nagpur sits at the centre of India's road and rail map, and its trade reflects that. The wholesale bazaars of Itwari and Gandhibagh supply shops across Vidarbha and into neighbouring states, the Kalamna market yard handles oranges and grain, MIHAN next to the airport hosts a cargo hub and SEZ, and the Butibori and Hingna MIDC estates run engineering, textile and food units.
A Nagpur enterprise registers for GST on the common portal, approaches the Nagpur Municipal Corporation for local trade permissions and property tax, and deals with the Maharashtra Airport Development Company for space in MIHAN or with MIDC for an industrial plot. Owners often run a shop in the old city and a godown on the outer ring road, with an accountant visiting monthly.
Transporters and warehouse operators in Nagpur move goods north to south and east to west, store stock for clients, and run their own spares, fuel and tyre inventories. Their accounts carry many small expenses, advances to drivers and receivables from dozens of consignors, and the owner wants a clear profit figure for each depot or branch.
Skyline Nexus ERP lets a Nagpur logistics firm set up each depot as a business location with its own numbering and stock, record expenses and payments that post journals once the toggles are on, and assign cost centres to vehicles or routes. Budgets against actuals and per-branch P&L show which depot pays its way, and the CMMS and asset modules track vehicle and equipment maintenance.
Vidarbha grows oranges, cotton and soybean, and Nagpur's commission agents and traders sit between the farmer and buyers elsewhere in India. The season brings sudden volume: lots arrive, are graded, packed and dispatched within days, and every lot has its own purchase rate, expenses for labour and transport, and a different buyer who pays later.
Skyline Nexus ERP helps a Nagpur produce trader record purchases by lot, value stock by FIFO so each sale picks up the right cost, and post sales and purchases to the ledger once auto-posting is enabled. Receivable and payable ageing shows which buyer and which farmer account are open, and the trial balance reflects the season while it is still running.
Consider a Gandhibagh cloth wholesaler who also sells retail at the front of the shop. Many typical billing apps print GST bills and adjust stock, but the ledger is often left to an accountant's package or a spreadsheet, so the trial balance is put together at month or year end. Udhaar-style credit-book apps record dues, though not stock, purchases or double-entry books.
Separate accounting packages give strong books, but sales are often re-keyed from the counter or imported later. When this Nagpur wholesaler switches on Auto-post Sales Transactions in Skyline Nexus ERP, every final POS sale posts a balanced journal for sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory, and the P&L and balance sheet can be read per branch. Some other tools lead today in GST filing.
India tax integration
Maharashtra has GST State code 27: every GSTIN registered in Maharashtra starts with 27. Sales inside Maharashtra carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.
E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.
E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.
Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.
Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

Nagpur businesses are registered in Maharashtra, so their GSTIN starts with 27. A Nagpur trader supplying a shop in Amravati or Chandrapur charges CGST and SGST, each at half the rate, while consignments to Raipur, Jabalpur or Hyderabad carry IGST. Registration becomes compulsory above INR 20 lakh turnover, or INR 40 lakh for goods-only suppliers outside the excluded items.
Skyline Nexus ERP lets you define tax groups such as CGST 9% plus SGST 9% or IGST 18% and choose intra-State or inter-State per sale, with an HSN column printed from the category code. A Nagpur firm above INR 5 crore must get an IRN from the IRP for B2B invoices, and Skyline Nexus cannot do that yet. E-way bills, GSTR returns and automatic place-of-supply switching are also not live yet.
Indian businesses join Skyline Nexus ERP through the India waitlist on this page and a demo; the buttons read Join the waitlist, Book a demo and Ask on WhatsApp. A Nagpur firm should prepare its item list with opening stock per shop and godown, contacts with GSTIN and opening balances, its depots or branches and its chart of accounts.
Accounts run in INR with an April-to-March financial year, dd-mm-yyyy dates and invoice totals in words in lakh and crore. Support comes by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail, and there is no office in India. Because e-way bills are not generated yet, a Nagpur transporter or trader that depends on them should join the waitlist rather than switch now.
The GST State code for a Nagpur business is 27, the code for Maharashtra, and every Nagpur GSTIN starts with it. Sales inside Maharashtra carry CGST plus SGST, while sales to Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh or any other State carry IGST. Skyline Nexus ERP uses tax groups for both, selected by the user rather than switched automatically.
A Nagpur trader who supplies goods only can use the INR 40 lakh aggregate turnover threshold for GST registration, except for ice cream, pan masala and tobacco. A trader who also supplies services falls under the INR 20 lakh threshold. Some suppliers must register regardless of turnover under section 24 of the CGST Act, so a Nagpur trader should check with a GST practitioner.
Skyline Nexus ERP handles a Nagpur logistics company with several depots by setting each one up as a business location with its own invoice numbering and stock. Expenses and payments post to the ledger once enabled, cost centres separate routes or vehicles, and the P&L can be filtered for each depot.
Skyline Nexus ERP works for a Nagpur wholesaler in Itwari that sells on credit and keeps stock in a shop and a godown. Sales post to the ledger once auto-posting is switched on, stock is costed by FIFO or LIFO, and receivable ageing lists each retailer's dues by age.
For a Nagpur shop, the difference lies in where the accounts live. Billing apps usually handle the bill and the stock count, leaving the ledger to an accountant. Skyline Nexus ERP keeps the counter and the double-entry books together once auto-posting is on. Billing apps can be ahead today on e-way bills and IRN e-invoicing, which Skyline Nexus does not provide yet.
Skyline Nexus ERP offers Nagpur users an English interface with a Hindi interface translation available, as well as other languages. The business currency can be INR, dates can follow dd-mm-yyyy, and invoices can show the amount in words in the Indian lakh and crore style.
A Nagpur business gets started with Skyline Nexus ERP by joining the India waitlist or booking a demo on this page. Items, opening stock, contacts with GSTIN and opening balances, and the chart of accounts can be imported from CSV, with support by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail and no office in India.
