Pune at a glance
Pune has three economies side by side. The industrial ring of Chakan, Bhosari, Talegaon and Ranjangaon MIDC builds parts for vehicle and machinery plants; the IT corridors of Hinjewadi, Kharadi and Magarpatta sell software and services; and the old city around Raviwar Peth, Budhwar Peth and Market Yard at Gultekdi still runs on traders, commission agents and family shops.
A new Pune business usually registers for GST on the common portal, takes a company or LLP registration with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, applies to MIDC for an industrial plot, and handles property tax and trade permissions with the Pune Municipal Corporation or, on the city fringe, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority. Growth often means a second unit or a sales office in another town.
A tier-two supplier in Chakan or Bhosari machines, forges or moulds parts against schedules from larger plants, buys raw material in lots, and carries rejected pieces, rework and scrap. Margins are thin, so the Pune owner needs the real cost per job and an inventory figure that matches the ledger when the customer's audit team or the bank asks.
Skyline Nexus ERP runs manufacturing with work orders, bills of materials and routings, and inventory with FIFO or LIFO costing that drives cost of goods sold. Purchases and supplier payments post journals once the accounting toggles are switched on, cost centres split figures by line or unit, and the Audit Pack exports trial balance, ledgers, sales and purchases to one Excel workbook for the auditor.
Service companies around Hinjewadi and Kharadi bill by project, milestone or monthly retainer, and their founders want to know which client and which project actually make money. Expenses, subcontractors and receivables matter more to them than stock, and many start with spreadsheets that stop working once the team passes a dozen people.
Skyline Nexus ERP gives a Pune service firm projects with tasks, milestones and budgets, CRM for leads, follow-ups and proposals, and expenses that post to the ledger once enabled. The income statement compares the current period with the previous one or the previous year, and receivable ageing shows which client invoice is overdue before the quarter closes.
Picture a hardware and fasteners trader in Raviwar Peth who supplies the Bhosari workshops. Many typical billing apps would print his GST bills and keep stock counts, but the books are often kept separately by his accountant, so the trial balance is reconstructed at year end. Credit-book apps can hold the khata of who owes him, yet they do not carry stock or a full ledger.
Separate accounting packages give strong books, but counter sales often reach them by export or re-keying. Skyline Nexus ERP, with Auto-post Sales Transactions turned on, posts every final POS sale as a balanced journal for sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory, so this Pune trader's trial balance and balance sheet stay current per branch. Some other tools are ahead today in GST filing.
India tax integration
Maharashtra has GST State code 27: every GSTIN registered in Maharashtra starts with 27. Sales inside Maharashtra carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.
E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.
E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.
Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.
Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

Pune falls under Maharashtra, so a Pune GSTIN opens with State code 27. Supplies to buyers in Pimpri, Nashik or Mumbai are intra-State and split into CGST and SGST at half the rate each, while parts shipped to a plant in Gujarat or Karnataka carry IGST. Turnover above INR 20 lakh triggers registration, or INR 40 lakh for most goods-only suppliers.
In Skyline Nexus ERP you build tax groups such as CGST 9% plus SGST 9% or IGST 18% and pick the correct one per sale; an HSN column can come from the category code. A Pune component supplier above INR 5 crore turnover must clear B2B invoices through the IRP for an IRN, which Skyline Nexus does not do yet. E-way bills, GSTR returns and place-of-supply automation are not live yet either.
Pune companies reach Skyline Nexus ERP through the India waitlist form on this page or a demo, using the Join the waitlist, Book a demo and Ask on WhatsApp buttons. Prepare the item and raw-material list with opening stock, bills of materials for your main parts, customers and suppliers with GSTIN and opening balances, and the chart of accounts.
Setup uses INR, a financial year from April, dd-mm-yyyy dates and invoice amounts in words in the Indian lakh and crore system. Support is available by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail, with no office in India. A Pune supplier whose customers already demand IRN e-invoices should stay on the waitlist until that feature is live.
A Pune GSTIN carries State code 27 because Pune is in Maharashtra. Sales from Pune within Maharashtra use CGST plus SGST, and sales to other States use IGST. Skyline Nexus ERP keeps both as tax groups, and the user chooses the right group on each invoice, because automatic place-of-supply selection is not available yet.
A Pune IT consultancy needs GST registration once aggregate turnover passes INR 20 lakh in a financial year, since the higher INR 40 lakh threshold applies only to suppliers of goods. Some suppliers, such as those making certain inter-State supplies, must register regardless of turnover under the CGST Act.
Skyline Nexus ERP supports a Pune auto component maker with work orders, bills of materials and routings, inventory costed by FIFO or LIFO, and cost centres per line or unit. Purchases and sales post to the ledger once auto-posting is switched on, so job costs and stock values sit in the same books.
Skyline Nexus ERP tracks projects for a Pune software firm with tasks, milestones and budgets, and links them to CRM leads and proposals. Budgets can be compared with actuals, and the P&L shows the current period against the previous period or year.
A Pune shop on a typical billing app usually gets GST bills and stock counts, and its accountant keeps the ledger somewhere else. With Skyline Nexus ERP the counter and the ledger are one system: after Auto-post Sales Transactions is enabled, the sale itself creates the journal entry. Where Skyline Nexus is behind today is IRN e-invoicing and GSTR preparation, both still on the roadmap.
Skyline Nexus ERP uses an English interface, and a Hindi interface translation is available for Pune users who prefer it. The business currency can be INR, dates can be dd-mm-yyyy, and invoices can print the amount in words in lakh and crore.
A Pune company signs up for Skyline Nexus ERP by joining the India waitlist or booking a demo on this page. Products, opening stock, contacts with GSTIN and the chart of accounts can then be imported by CSV, with support by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail and no office in India.
