Ahmedabad at a glance
Ahmedabad works on two clocks. In the old city, cloth merchants around Maskati Market and the electronics and hardware lanes of Relief Road trade by the bundle and the carton, mostly on credit. On the eastern edge, the GIDC estates of Naroda, Vatva and Odhav run pharmaceutical, chemical, dyeing and engineering units, while showrooms and restaurants line CG Road, SG Highway and Prahlad Nagar.
A new Ahmedabad business typically registers for GST on the national portal under State code 24, takes a Shops and Establishments registration from the municipal corporation, and, if it builds a unit, deals with GIDC for the plot. Owners then juggle a billing screen at the counter, a stock register in the godown and an accountant who closes the books later.
A Vatva chemical unit or a Naroda pharmaceutical formulator buys raw materials by the drum, mixes to a formula and dispatches to dealers in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Odhav engineering shops machine parts to order for larger plants in Sanand and Changodar. In each Ahmedabad case the owner asks the same question: what did this batch cost, and is the margin real?
Skyline Nexus ERP answers with manufacturing work orders, bills of materials and routings, so material use is recorded against each batch. FIFO or LIFO costing sets cost of goods sold, and cost centres separate a second shed or product line. Purchases of drums and packing post journals once auto-posting is on, and the Day Book shows what moved.
Old-city wholesale in Ahmedabad is fast and personal. A Maskati Market cloth trader sells to retailers from Mehsana, Palanpur and Udaipur, gives each a credit limit and chases dues around Diwali. A Relief Road electronics dealer receives cartons from Delhi and Mumbai, sells to repair shops and keeps an eye on serial numbers and returns.
Skyline Nexus ERP keeps each retailer with GSTIN, credit terms and opening balance, and receivable ageing shows who is overdue. Purchase returns and customer payments post journals like sales. The CRM tracks follow-ups with new retailers, and if the Ahmedabad trader also runs a godown in Narol or Aslali, stock is held and reported per location.
Picture a Maskati Market trader with one shop and a godown. Typical billing apps print the GST bill and reduce stock, but the books often sit with the accountant in another package or a spreadsheet, and the trial balance is rebuilt at month or year end. A credit-book app records who owes what, without stock, purchases or a double-entry ledger.
A separate accounting package is strong on books, yet shop sales are exported or typed in again. In Skyline Nexus ERP, once Auto-post Sales Transactions is switched on, each final Ahmedabad sale posts sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory in one balanced journal, so the trial balance and balance sheet are current and filter by shop or godown. Other providers are ahead today on GSTR preparation, which Skyline Nexus does not do yet.
India tax integration
Gujarat has GST State code 24: every GSTIN registered in Gujarat starts with 24. Sales inside Gujarat carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.
E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.
E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.
Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.
Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

An Ahmedabad GSTIN starts with 24, the Gujarat code. A sale to a retailer in Gandhinagar or Mehsana carries CGST plus SGST at half the rate each; a sale to Udaipur or Indore carries IGST at the full rate. Registration is due above INR 20 lakh turnover, and goods-only suppliers may use INR 40 lakh, except ice cream, pan masala and tobacco.
Ahmedabad suppliers above INR 5 crore aggregate turnover need an IRN from the IRP for B2B invoices, which Skyline Nexus ERP does not generate yet. In Skyline Nexus you build tax groups such as CGST 9% plus SGST 9% or IGST 18%, choose the group on each bill, and print HSN from the category code. E-way bills still have to be raised outside Skyline Nexus.
India onboarding is by waitlist and demo, so an Ahmedabad business starts with Join the waitlist, Book a demo or Ask on WhatsApp on this page. Preparation helps: an item list with opening stock in the shop and godown, retailers and suppliers with GSTIN and balances, a chart of accounts, and the locations to set up.
Skyline Nexus ERP runs on a financial year from April, INR, dd-mm-yyyy dates and invoice amounts in words in lakh and crore. Items, opening stock and contacts arrive by CSV import. Support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail; Skyline has no office in India, so Ahmedabad users are helped remotely.
An Ahmedabad business is in Gujarat, so its GSTIN starts with State code 24. Sales within Gujarat carry CGST plus SGST and sales to other States carry IGST. Skyline Nexus ERP holds both kinds of tax group, and the user chooses the right one on each invoice.
An Ahmedabad shop selling goods only may use the INR 40 lakh threshold, except for ice cream, pan masala and tobacco, while service providers register above INR 20 lakh. Some suppliers must register regardless of turnover. Skyline Nexus ERP works with or without a GSTIN on the business.
Yes. A Vatva or Naroda factory can use Skyline Nexus ERP work orders, bills of materials and routings, with FIFO or LIFO costing for cost of goods sold. Cost centres separate product lines, and purchases post journals once auto-posting is switched on in the accounting settings.
Skyline Nexus ERP records each retailer with GSTIN, credit terms and opening balance and shows receivable ageing, so an Ahmedabad cloth wholesaler can see overdue dues by customer. Stock is held per shop and godown, and customer payments post to the ledger the same way as sales.
Billing apps often print GST bills and count stock while the books are kept elsewhere. Skyline Nexus ERP, with auto-posting on, turns each final sale into a balanced journal, so an Ahmedabad shop has a current trial balance and balance sheet. Some billing apps are ahead on e-way bills, which Skyline Nexus does not produce yet.
Skyline Nexus ERP has an English interface with a Hindi interface translation available. INR is an available currency, dates can be shown as dd-mm-yyyy, and invoice totals can be written in words in lakh and crore. The ledger runs in one base currency.
An Ahmedabad trader should bring the item list with opening stock, customers and suppliers with GSTIN and balances, a chart of accounts and the shop and godown locations. Skyline Nexus ERP imports items, stock and contacts by CSV, and India onboarding runs through the waitlist on this page.
