Rajkot at a glance
Rajkot is the workshop of Saurashtra. Aji GIDC, Metoda GIDC and the Shapar-Veraval industrial area are full of small and medium units making diesel engine parts, pumps, castings, forgings, bearings and machine tools. In the city, Soni Bazaar and Palace Road hold gold and imitation jewellery workshops, and the Bedi marketing yard of the Rajkot APMC trades groundnut, cotton and cumin, feeding nearby oil mills.
Most Rajkot units are owner-run, with the founder on the shop floor and a relative on the books. GST registration falls under Gujarat code 24, the Rajkot Municipal Corporation looks after local registrations, and GIDC allots industrial plots. The usual pain is that the dispatch register, the dealer ledger and the accountant's books disagree at year end.
A Shapar-Veraval foundry pours castings for a pump maker in Aji GIDC, who machines and assembles them and ships pumps to dealers in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Africa. Orders come in batches, raw material prices move with scrap rates, and rejections at the machining stage eat margin. The Rajkot owner wants a cost per piece he can trust.
Skyline Nexus ERP supports manufacturing work orders, bills of materials and routings, so castings, bearings and motors are consumed against each pump batch. FIFO or LIFO costing sets cost of goods sold, and cost centres separate the foundry from the assembly line. Dealer orders, proposals and follow-ups sit in the CRM next to the sales history.
In Soni Bazaar, a jeweller buys gold, gives it to karigars, gets back finished pieces and sells to retail shops in Jamnagar, Junagadh and beyond. Imitation jewellery units in Rajkot work at higher volume with many designs and low prices. Both trades need exact stock by design and weight, and a clear record of what each karigar holds.
Skyline Nexus ERP keeps each design as a product with stock per location, and a karigar can be set up as a location so pieces in progress show separately. Retailer accounts carry GSTIN and credit terms with receivable ageing. Gold and jewellery carry the 3% GST rate, which a Rajkot jeweller sets up as a tax group in Skyline Nexus.
Imagine a Rajkot pump maker with a factory in Aji GIDC and a spares counter in the city. Typical billing apps print the GST invoice and track stock, while the books are often kept in an accountant's package or a spreadsheet, so the trial balance is rebuilt at month or year end. Credit-book apps record dealer dues but not stock, purchases or a full double-entry ledger.
Separate accounting packages keep good books, but invoices from the counter are exported or re-keyed. In Skyline Nexus ERP, once Auto-post Sales Transactions is switched on, every final sale posts sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory in one balanced journal, so the Rajkot owner sees a current trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet by location. Other tools are ahead today on e-way bills, which Skyline Nexus does not generate yet.
India tax integration
Gujarat has GST State code 24: every GSTIN registered in Gujarat starts with 24. Sales inside Gujarat carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.
E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.
E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.
Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.
Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

Rajkot GSTINs start with 24. Pumps sold to a dealer in Jamnagar or Morbi carry CGST plus SGST at half the rate each; a consignment to Pune or Indore carries IGST at the full rate. Registration is due above INR 20 lakh turnover, and goods-only suppliers may use the INR 40 lakh threshold, except ice cream, pan masala and tobacco.
Rajkot units above INR 5 crore aggregate turnover must get an IRN from the IRP for B2B and export invoices, which Skyline Nexus ERP does not support yet. In Skyline Nexus you create tax groups such as CGST 9% plus SGST 9% or IGST 18%, pick the group on each invoice, and print HSN from the category code. GSTR filing stays outside Skyline Nexus.
The route in for a Rajkot business is the India waitlist on this page, followed by a demo or a WhatsApp chat. Useful homework: the parts or design list with quantities in the factory, counter and with karigars, dealers and suppliers with GSTIN and dues, the chart of accounts the accountant already uses, and each site to be treated as a location.
During setup Skyline Nexus ERP is given an April start to the financial year, the rupee, a dd-mm-yyyy date display and Indian amount in words using lakh and crore. Spreadsheet lists of parts, stock and parties are imported as CSV. The Skyline team answers on WhatsApp, by phone and by e-mail from outside India, with no local office.
A Rajkot GSTIN carries State code 24, because Rajkot is in Gujarat. Sales inside Gujarat carry CGST plus SGST, and sales to other States carry IGST. Skyline Nexus ERP lets the user set up both tax groups and choose one on each invoice.
No. A Rajkot exporter above INR 5 crore aggregate turnover needs an IRN for export invoices, and Skyline Nexus ERP cannot provide one yet. Smaller Rajkot exporters are not bound by that rule, and Skyline Nexus can still record the sale and post it to the books.
Yes. An Aji GIDC unit can use Skyline Nexus ERP work orders, bills of materials and routings, with FIFO or LIFO costing for cost of goods sold and cost centres for each shop. Purchases of castings and steel post journals once auto-posting is switched on.
A Rajkot jeweller can set each karigar up as a stock location in Skyline Nexus ERP, so pieces in progress show apart from the showroom. Products are tracked by design, and a 3% GST tax group can be created for gold and jewellery sales.
Billing apps often print GST bills and keep stock while the books live with the accountant. Skyline Nexus ERP, with auto-posting on, posts each final sale as a balanced journal, so a Rajkot shop sees a current trial balance and balance sheet. Some billing apps are ahead on e-way bills, which Skyline Nexus does not produce yet.
Skyline Nexus ERP runs in English with a Hindi interface translation available. INR is an available business currency, dates can use dd-mm-yyyy, and invoice totals can be written in words in lakh and crore. The ledger keeps one base currency.
A Rajkot unit should prepare its parts or design list with opening stock, dealers and suppliers with GSTIN and balances, a chart of accounts and its locations. Skyline Nexus ERP imports these by CSV, and India onboarding is through the waitlist on this page and a demo.
Skyline Nexus ERP is a cloud service run by Skyline Industrial Solution. We have no office in Rajkot; support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail.
