Kolkata, West Bengal, India
Skyline Nexus ERP links the counter, the godown and the ledger for Kolkata wholesalers in Burrabazar and for retailers from New Market to Salt Lake.
Final sales post their own journals once auto-posting is on, so a Kolkata owner sees a current trial balance by branch instead of waiting for year-end entries.
Plans from $19 per month, plus VAT where it applies · Prices shown in USD; we do not publish a price list for India yet.
Skyline Nexus ERP cannot yet meet the e-invoicing rules that apply to your business in India. Leave your details and we will contact you when it can.
Kolkata at a glance
Kolkata trade still runs on lanes and markets. Burrabazar moves cloth, dry fruit, hardware and cosmetics to buyers across eastern India, Posta handles grain and spices, and Canning Street and Bagri Market supply plastics, stationery and chemists. New Market, Hatibagan and Gariahat sell to households, and Salt Lake Sector V and New Town hold IT firms.
Most of these businesses are family firms with a shop, a godown and sometimes a second outlet across the river in Howrah. A Kolkata trader registers for GST under West Bengal, holds a trade licence from the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, and many record Udyam registration as an MSME. New Town firms deal with the New Town Kolkata Development Authority.
A Burrabazar wholesaler sells on credit to retailers in Bihar, Odisha and the North-East, buys in bulk from mills, and keeps stock in a cramped godown a few lanes away. Skyline Nexus ERP records each sale and purchase against the customer or supplier, keeps stock per location, and shows receivable and payable ageing so overdue parties stand out early.
Skyline Nexus treats the shop and each godown as separate locations with their own stock and numbering, linked by stock transfers. Contacts can be imported with their GSTIN and opening balance. Costing by FIFO or LIFO drives the cost of goods sold, so the margin on a bale of cloth or a carton of dry fruit is visible.
Kolkata retail ranges from sari and shoe shops in Gariahat to sweet-shop chains and restaurants with outlets across the city and in the Salt Lake and New Town malls. Skyline Nexus ERP runs the counter as a POS with cash registers, restaurant and kitchen features, and weighing-scale integration for sweets and loose goods sold by weight.
Each Kolkata outlet can be a business location in Skyline Nexus with its own invoice layout, payment methods and users who see only their own branch. Stock is held per outlet, and location-wise stock reports show which shop needs a refill from the central kitchen or store.
Picture a Burrabazar cloth wholesaler using a typical billing app. GST bills print and stock counts are kept, but the books often sit with an accountant in another package or in a spreadsheet, so the trial balance is rebuilt at month or year end. Some Kolkata shops use a credit-book app for udhaar, which records who owes what but not stock, purchases or a full double-entry ledger.
Separate accounting packages keep strong books, yet counter sales are exported or re-keyed. In Skyline Nexus ERP, once Auto-post Sales Transactions is switched on, every final POS sale posts a balanced journal for sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory. Purchases, payments and expenses post the same way, so the Kolkata trial balance, P&L and balance sheet stay current and filter by branch.
India tax integration
West Bengal has GST State code 19: every GSTIN registered in West Bengal starts with 19. Sales inside West Bengal carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.
E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.
E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.
Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.
Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

A Kolkata GSTIN begins with 19, the West Bengal State code. A sale to a buyer in Salt Lake or Howrah carries CGST plus SGST, each at half the rate, while a consignment to Patna or Guwahati carries IGST at the full rate. Registration is due above INR 20 lakh aggregate turnover, or INR 40 lakh for most suppliers of goods only.
In Skyline Nexus ERP you set GST up as tax groups, such as CGST 9% plus SGST 9% or IGST 18%, choose the intra-State or inter-State group yourself, and can print an HSN column from the category code. Kolkata firms above INR 5 crore turnover must obtain an IRN for B2B invoices, which Skyline Nexus cannot generate yet, and e-way bills and GSTR returns are not live either.
India onboarding is by waitlist and demo: use Join the waitlist, Book a demo or Ask on WhatsApp on this page. Before a Kolkata demo, gather the product list with opening stock as a CSV, contacts with GSTIN and opening balances, your chart of accounts and the list of shops and godowns that will become locations.
Skyline Nexus ERP is set to INR, a financial year starting in April, dd-mm-yyyy dates and invoice amounts in words in lakh and crore. The interface is English, with a Hindi interface translation available. Support for Kolkata customers is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail; there is no office in India.
Every GSTIN registered in Kolkata, and anywhere in West Bengal, starts with 19. Skyline Nexus ERP stores the GSTIN on the business and on each contact, so it prints on invoices. Skyline Nexus does not validate GSTINs, so a Kolkata trader should check new party numbers on the GST portal first.
A Kolkata business must register once aggregate turnover crosses INR 20 lakh in a financial year, while suppliers of goods only can usually use the INR 40 lakh threshold, except ice cream, pan masala and tobacco. Skyline Nexus ERP keeps the turnover figures in its sales reports but does not decide registration for you.
Yes. Skyline Nexus ERP lets a Burrabazar wholesaler set up each shop and godown as a business location with its own stock, invoice numbering and users. Stock transfers move goods between them and location-wise reports show what sits where. Stock transfers do not post to the general ledger, so stock values are reviewed through the inventory reports.
Skyline Nexus ERP offers a POS with cash registers, restaurant and kitchen features and weighing-scale integration, which fits a Kolkata sweet-shop chain selling by weight. Each outlet can have its own location, stock and invoice layout. Once auto-posting is switched on, every final sale posts to the books and branch-wise profit and loss is available.
Many billing apps print GST bills and track stock, while the books are kept elsewhere and rebuilt later. Skyline Nexus ERP posts a balanced journal for every final sale, purchase, payment and expense once auto-posting is on, so a Kolkata shop has a current trial balance and balance sheet. Some billing apps are ahead today on IRN e-invoicing and offline billing, which Skyline Nexus does not offer yet.
Skyline Nexus ERP has an English interface with a Hindi interface translation available, and INR is a supported business currency. Kolkata users can set dd-mm-yyyy dates, an April financial year and invoice amounts in words in lakh and crore for customers who expect them.
India onboarding for Skyline Nexus ERP runs through the India waitlist and a demo. A Kolkata business joins the waitlist on this page, books a demo or asks on WhatsApp, then prepares CSV files for products, opening stock and contacts, plus the chart of accounts. Support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail, with no office in India.
