Raipur at a glance
Raipur trades for the whole of Chhattisgarh. Pandri's cloth market supplies garment shops across the State; Golbazar, Malviya Road and Sadar Bazar sell everything from utensils to jewellery; the Ganj and Fafadih area handles grain and kirana; and Transport Nagar sends lorries towards Nagpur, Odisha and the mining districts. On the outskirts, Urla, Siltara, Sondongri and Bhanpuri run steel, plastics and food units.
A Raipur business registers for GST on the national portal and is administered by the Chhattisgarh Commercial Tax Department; industrial plots come through the State industrial development corporation. The State secretariat at Nava Raipur Atal Nagar buys through tenders, so local suppliers often combine counter trade with government supply contracts and their longer payment cycles.
A Pandri cloth wholesaler buys from mills in Surat, Ahmedabad and Bhiwandi, sells by the bundle to retailers from Bilaspur, Durg and small towns on credit, and settles accounts around festival seasons. Golbazar and Ganj traders work the same way with utensils, grain or kirana. Stock sits across a shop and one or two godowns.
Skyline Nexus ERP gives that Raipur wholesaler sales invoices and a POS that reduce stock in the right godown, purchases recorded against out-of-State mills with GSTIN, and receivable ageing per retailer. FIFO or LIFO costing sets cost of goods sold, and CRM follow-ups remind the trader whom to visit before Diwali or the wedding season.
Urla and Siltara host rolling mills, sponge iron plants, pipe and wire units, while Bhanpuri and Sondongri add plastics, packaging and food processing. Owners buy billets, coal or granules in bulk, convert them shift by shift, and sell to traders and projects. Yield and machine uptime decide whether a month is profitable.
Skyline Nexus ERP covers production with work orders, bills of materials and routings, costs output from the lots consumed using FIFO or LIFO, and plans maintenance with CMMS work orders and preventive schedules. Cost centres split costs per mill or line, so a Raipur owner compares lines on the same basis. Tender and project contracts can be tracked as projects with budgets.
Think of a Pandri wholesaler with a shop and two godowns. Typical billing apps print GST bills and track bundles, while the accountant builds the books from exports when returns are due. A credit-book app keeps the khata of retailer dues but not the bundles or the mill bills. A separate accounting package keeps proper books, yet the shop's bills are entered a second time.
When Auto-post Sales Transactions is on, Skyline Nexus ERP posts each final bill as a balanced journal to sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory right after saving, so the Raipur trader's trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet are current and can be viewed per location. Mill purchases and payments post the same way. Other providers are ahead today on GSTR filing, which Skyline Nexus does not offer yet.
India tax integration
Chhattisgarh has GST State code 22: every GSTIN registered in Chhattisgarh starts with 22. Sales inside Chhattisgarh carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.

A Raipur GSTIN starts with 22, the Chhattisgarh code. A sale to a retailer in Bilaspur or Durg carries CGST plus SGST at half the rate each; a sale to Nagpur or Sambalpur carries IGST. Registration applies above INR 20 lakh turnover, while goods-only suppliers in Chhattisgarh may register from INR 40 lakh, except for ice cream, pan masala and tobacco.
Traders above INR 5 crore aggregate turnover need an IRN for B2B invoices, which Skyline Nexus ERP cannot produce yet. In Skyline Nexus you build tax groups like CGST 9% + SGST 9% or IGST 18%, pick one per bill, and print HSN from the category code. Moving goods above INR 50,000 needs an e-way bill, which you still raise outside Skyline Nexus.

Raipur is in Chhattisgarh, so a Raipur GSTIN starts with State code 22. Sales within Chhattisgarh carry CGST and SGST, and sales to other States carry IGST. Skyline Nexus ERP holds both tax groups, and the user chooses the right one on each bill.
A Raipur trader supplying goods only may use the INR 40 lakh threshold available in Chhattisgarh, except for ice cream, pan masala and tobacco. A trader that also supplies services registers above INR 20 lakh. Skyline Nexus ERP stores the trader's GSTIN and those of its retailers.
