Ladakh at a glance
Ladakh's business year is short and intense. When the passes open, visitors fill guest houses, hotels and camps in Leh, Nubra, Pangong and Zanskar, and taxi operators and tour agencies run full days. Leh Main Bazaar and Kargil Main Bazaar supply locals and visitors, apricots and sea buckthorn are dried and sold, and pashmina wool comes from Changthang herders.
Government is the other engine: the UT Administration, the hill councils and defence establishments buy supplies, transport and construction work. A Ladakh business holds a GSTIN starting with 38, and local matters run through the Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh and the district administrations of Leh and Kargil. Much of the bookkeeping is squeezed into winter, when trade slows.
A Leh guest house may also run a cafe and a small travel desk; a camp operator in Nubra or at Pangong moves supplies up for a few months and then packs down. Takings must be counted per property, provisions bought in bulk before roads close must be tracked, and the season's profit needs to be visible before winter.
Skyline Nexus ERP gives each guest house, cafe or camp its own business location with an invoice series, payment methods and stock, and the POS handles cash registers and restaurant orders. With auto-posting on, sales and provisions consumed post to the ledger as bills close, so a Ladakh owner can compare this season's branch profit and loss with the previous year.
Ladakh contractors build roads, buildings and water works within a narrow working window, and suppliers deliver fuel, food, stationery and equipment to government offices and camps. Each job has a budget, staged bills and long payment cycles. Apricot and pashmina traders, meanwhile, buy from many small producers and sell to buyers elsewhere in India.
Skyline Nexus ERP covers contracts with projects (tasks, milestones and budgets) and cost centres with budget-versus-actual reports, so a Ladakh contractor sees each job's spending. AR ageing shows which department bills are pending. Traders record purchases from producers, supplier payments and stock by store, with costing on FIFO or LIFO.
Picture a Ladakh shop in Leh Main Bazaar that also supplies a government camp. Typical billing apps print GST bills and track stock, but the books are often kept by an accountant in a separate package or spreadsheet and rebuilt at year end. Credit-book apps note who owes what without stock or purchases. Separate accounting packages keep thorough books, but sales have to be exported or keyed in again.
Skyline Nexus ERP, with Auto-post Sales Transactions switched on, posts each final sale as a balanced journal for sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory, and purchases, payments and expenses follow the same route. The trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet are current for the shop and the supply business separately or together.
India tax integration
Ladakh has GST State code 38: every GSTIN registered in Ladakh starts with 38. Sales inside Ladakh carry CGST + UTGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.
E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.
E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.
Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.
Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

Ladakh's State code is 38. It is a Union Territory without a legislature, so local supplies carry CGST plus UTGST, each at half the rate, rather than SGST; supplies to other States carry IGST. Registration is due above INR 20 lakh aggregate turnover, and goods-only suppliers may use INR 40 lakh, except for ice cream, pan masala and tobacco.
Skyline Nexus ERP lets a Ladakh business create a CGST 9% plus UTGST 9% group and an IGST 18% group, chosen on each invoice because place of supply is not switched automatically. HSN prints from the category code. Suppliers above INR 5 crore need IRNs, which Skyline Nexus ERP does not provide yet, and e-way bills and GSTR returns are not available yet either.
Joining is through the India waitlist, a demo or a WhatsApp message from this page. Support comes by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail; there is no office in Ladakh or elsewhere in India. Skyline Nexus ERP runs in the cloud and does not work without an internet connection, which matters at remote camps. Setup uses an April financial year, INR, dd-mm-yyyy dates and lakh and crore amounts in words.
Winter is a good time to prepare: export items or menus with opening stock per property as CSV, list customers, including government offices, and suppliers with GSTIN and balances, and set out the chart of accounts. Contractors should list open jobs with budgets so they can become projects.
Yes. Ladakh is a Union Territory without a legislature, so a Ladakh business charges CGST plus UTGST on local sales and IGST on sales to other States. Every GSTIN there starts with 38. Skyline Nexus ERP lets the user build both tax groups and pick one per invoice.
A Leh guest house must register for GST above INR 20 lakh aggregate turnover in a financial year, since it supplies services. The INR 40 lakh threshold applies only to suppliers of goods only, and some suppliers must register regardless of turnover under the CGST Act.
Skyline Nexus ERP can treat a Nubra camp and a Leh cafe as separate business locations under one company, each with its own stock, invoice series and cash register. Branch statements show each unit, and the consolidated view shows the whole business.
A Ladakh government contractor can use Skyline Nexus ERP projects for tasks, milestones and budgets, cost centres for job costing, and AR ageing to follow unpaid department bills. Purchases and expenses post to the ledger once the accounting toggles are on.
A billing app for a Ladakh shop typically prints bills and tracks stock while the accounts are prepared elsewhere. Skyline Nexus ERP posts every final sale as a balanced journal once auto-posting is on. Some other providers are ahead today with offline billing, which suits remote areas, and with IRN e-invoicing and e-way bills, none of which Skyline Nexus ERP has yet.
Staff in Ladakh can use Skyline Nexus ERP in English or with the Hindi interface translation that is available. INR is available as the currency, dates can be dd-mm-yyyy, and invoices can print amounts in words in lakh and crore.
Signing up from Kargil starts with the India waitlist form, a demo request or a WhatsApp message on this page. Winter is the practical time to get ready: Skyline Nexus ERP takes CSV imports of products, opening stock, contacts with balances and the chart of accounts, so those lists can be built while trade is slow.
Skyline Nexus ERP is a cloud service run by Skyline Industrial Solution. We have no office in Ladakh; support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail.
