Bihar, India
Bihar businesses buy produce in season, distribute goods to dozens of district towns and trade across the Nepal border, and Skyline Nexus ERP keeps stock, credit and books together.
With auto-posting switched on, each final sale and purchase writes its own journal, so a Bihar firm with depots in several towns sees branch figures as they happen.
Plans from $19 per month, plus VAT where it applies · Prices shown in USD; we do not publish a price list for India yet.
Skyline Nexus ERP cannot yet meet the e-invoicing rules that apply to your business in India. Leave your details and we will contact you when it can.
Bihar at a glance
Bihar's trade map runs along the Ganga and north towards Nepal. Patna and Hajipur hold distributors and offices, Muzaffarpur is known for litchi and wholesale, Mithila for makhana, Bhagalpur for silk weaving, Begusarai for the refinery and fertiliser belt, and Gaya for pilgrims and trade. Raxaul and Jogbani are the land ports for Nepal.
Most Bihar firms are family-run distributors, millers, contractors and shops. They register for GST under State code 10, many record Udyam registration as MSMEs, and district administrations such as Muzaffarpur and Bhagalpur handle local licences and land records. Distance between towns makes depots, credit control and stock visibility the daily headache for a Bihar owner.
A makhana processor in Darbhanga or Purnia buys raw seed from growers in season, grades and pops it, and sells packed lots to buyers across India. A Muzaffarpur litchi trader moves fast-perishing fruit within weeks. Both need purchase records per lot, stock by grade and a clear view of who still owes for last season.
Skyline Nexus ERP records purchases and opening stock, values consumption by FIFO or LIFO, and uses bills of materials and work orders for grading and packing. Credit sales post to receivables with ageing reports. Cost centres can separate processing from trading, and budgets against actuals show whether a Bihar season stayed on plan.
A Bihar FMCG or building-material distributor often runs a main godown in Patna or Hajipur with smaller depots in Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga or Gaya, supplying retailers on credit. Traders near Raxaul and Jogbani also deal with buyers from Nepal. Stock sitting in the wrong depot and slow collections tie up cash.
Skyline Nexus ERP sets up each godown and depot as a location with its own stock, invoice numbering and users, linked by stock transfers. Location-wise stock reports show where goods are, and receivable ageing shows overdue retailers per salesman's area. The CRM module tracks leads and follow-ups when a Bihar distributor opens new territory.
Imagine a Muzaffarpur distributor on a typical billing app. GST bills and stock counts are covered, but the books are often kept by an accountant in a separate package or a spreadsheet, so the trial balance is assembled at month or year end. Credit-book apps track retailer dues, yet not stock, purchases or a full double-entry ledger.
Separate accounting packages keep strong accounts while sales are exported or re-keyed from the counter. In Skyline Nexus ERP, once Auto-post Sales Transactions is on, every final sale posts a balanced journal for sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory, and purchases, payments and expenses follow. The Bihar distributor's trial balance, P&L and balance sheet stay current per depot.
India tax integration
Bihar has GST State code 10: every GSTIN registered in Bihar starts with 10. Sales inside Bihar carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.

Bihar GSTINs start with 10. Within Bihar, a sale carries CGST plus SGST at half the rate each; a dispatch to Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh or West Bengal carries IGST at the full rate. The registration threshold is INR 20 lakh aggregate turnover, and most goods-only suppliers can use INR 40 lakh, except ice cream, pan masala and tobacco.
Skyline Nexus ERP uses tax groups you configure, such as CGST 9% plus SGST 9% or IGST 18%, and the user selects the intra-State or inter-State group; HSN prints from the category code. Bihar suppliers above INR 5 crore must clear B2B invoices through the IRP, and Skyline Nexus is not connected to it yet, nor does it produce e-way bills or GSTR returns.
India onboarding runs by the waitlist and a demo, through the Join the waitlist, Book a demo and Ask on WhatsApp buttons. A Bihar business should prepare a product list with opening stock in CSV, retailer and supplier contacts with GSTIN and opening balances, its chart of accounts and the godowns and depots to set up.
Skyline Nexus ERP uses INR, an April financial year, dd-mm-yyyy dates and amounts in words in lakh and crore. Staff can work in English or with the Hindi interface translation, which suits most Bihar teams. Support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail; Skyline has no office in India.
Bihar's GST State code is 10, so every GSTIN registered in Bihar starts with those digits. Skyline Nexus ERP stores the GSTIN on the business and on contacts and prints it on invoices. Skyline Nexus does not check GSTINs online, so a Bihar business should verify new numbers on the GST portal.
A Bihar trader needs GST registration above INR 20 lakh aggregate turnover in a financial year, while suppliers of goods only can usually use INR 40 lakh, except ice cream, pan masala and tobacco. Some suppliers must register whatever their turnover. Skyline Nexus ERP reports turnover but does not decide registration.
A Bihar makhana processor can use Skyline Nexus ERP for seasonal purchases, stock by grade, bills of materials and work orders for grading and packing, and credit sales with ageing. FIFO or LIFO costing values the stock used. Grower payments are recorded as supplier payments; Skyline Nexus has no farmer-registry or mandi integration.
Skyline Nexus ERP lets a Bihar distributor run each district depot as a location with its own stock, numbering and users, move goods by stock transfer and read location-wise stock reports. Branch-wise trial balance and P&L show which depot earns. Stock transfers do not post to the general ledger.
Many billing apps give a Bihar shop GST bills and stock counts, while the accounts are written up later elsewhere. Skyline Nexus ERP posts every final sale, purchase, payment and expense to a double-entry ledger once auto-posting is on. Some billing apps are ahead today on e-way bills and offline billing, which Skyline Nexus does not provide yet.
Skyline Nexus ERP has a Hindi interface translation as well as English, so Bihar staff can use the language they prefer. INR is the business currency, dates can be dd-mm-yyyy and invoices can show amounts in words in lakh and crore.
A Bihar business joins the India waitlist for Skyline Nexus ERP on this page, books a demo or asks on WhatsApp. Products, opening stock, contacts and the chart of accounts can be imported by CSV. Support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail, and there is no office in India.
