Manipur at a glance
Commerce in Manipur centres on Imphal, where Khwairamband Bazar, the Ima Keithel run by women traders and the shops of Thangal Bazar sell everything from fish and vegetables to cloth and electronics. Thoubal and Churachandpur are district trading towns, and Moreh on the Myanmar border handles cross-border trade. Most goods arrive by road through Assam or Nagaland.
Firms in Manipur register for GST and file with the Department of Taxes, Government of Manipur, while factory permits and industrial schemes run through the Ease of Doing Business portal of the Directorate of Trade, Commerce and Industries. Border trade at Moreh passes the integrated check post of the Land Ports Authority of India. Skyline Nexus ERP keeps each shop and store as a location with its own stock.
A trader in Khwairamband Bazar buys stock in Guwahati or Dimapur, pays freight, and sells across the counter or on credit to smaller shops in the hill districts. When the highway is slow, stock planning matters even more, because a missing item may take days to replace. Traders in Manipur need to see stock and dues at a glance.
Skyline Nexus ERP records purchases with freight, holds stock per shop and store, and posts each final sale to the ledger once auto-posting is turned on. Location-wise stock reports show what to reorder, receivables ageing shows which retailer owes money, and the CRM logs follow-ups. FIFO or LIFO costing gives the real margin per item after freight.
Weaving is part of daily life in Manipur, and many workshops produce phanek, shawls and stoles alongside pottery, cane and bamboo craft. A workshop buys yarn and dyes, gives work to weavers, and sells finished pieces to shops, exhibitions and buyers in other States. Tracking yarn issued against pieces returned is where margins leak.
Manufacturing in Skyline Nexus ERP covers work orders, bills of materials and routings, so a Manipur workshop can define how much yarn a shawl uses and compare it with what was issued. Finished pieces enter stock at cost, sales post journals with cost of goods, and projects with budgets suit exhibition orders. Cost centres separate weaving, pottery or retail lines.
Think of a Thangal Bazar wholesaler supplying shops in Ukhrul and Senapati. Typical billing apps print GST bills and keep stock counts, while the ledger often sits with an accountant and the trial balance is rebuilt at month or year end. Credit-book apps note dues but not stock or a full ledger. Separate accounting packages give solid books, though counter sales are keyed in twice.
Skyline Nexus ERP connects the two ends. When Auto-post Sales Transactions is enabled, each final sale in Manipur posts a balanced journal for sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory, and purchases, payments and expenses post the same way. The trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet stay current per branch. Some other tools are ahead today on GST return features.
India tax integration
Manipur has GST State code 14: every GSTIN registered in Manipur starts with 14. Sales inside Manipur carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.
E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.
E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.
Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.
Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

GSTINs registered in Manipur start with State code 14. A sale inside Manipur carries CGST plus SGST at half the rate each, and a sale to Assam, Nagaland or any other State carries IGST at the full rate. As a special-category State, Manipur sets the registration threshold at INR 10 lakh aggregate turnover rather than INR 20 lakh, and the INR 40 lakh goods-only threshold does not apply.
Skyline Nexus ERP uses tax groups that you create, such as CGST 9% + SGST 9% or IGST 18%, and you select the intra-State or inter-State group yourself; an HSN column prints from the category code. Suppliers above INR 5 crore need an IRN from the IRP for B2B invoices, and Skyline Nexus ERP does not connect to the IRP yet, nor does it prepare GSTR returns.
Traders and workshops in Manipur get access by putting their name on the India waitlist here and booking a demo, or by asking first on WhatsApp. Before the call, prepare a CSV of items, yarn and materials with opening stock per shop or store, buyers and suppliers with GSTIN and dues, and the current chart of accounts.
On setup, Skyline Nexus ERP is given an April start to the financial year, INR, dd-mm-yyyy dates and Indian-style amounts in words using lakh and crore. Imphal counters need a working internet link, since there is no offline mode. Support comes by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail; there is no office in India.
Manipur is a special-category State, so GST registration is due above INR 10 lakh aggregate turnover instead of INR 20 lakh, and the INR 40 lakh goods-only threshold does not apply. Skyline Nexus ERP can be used before and after a Manipur business registers.
A Manipur GSTIN starts with State code 14. Skyline Nexus ERP stores the GSTIN on each contact, so staff can tell an in-State buyer, taxed with CGST plus SGST, from a buyer in another State, taxed with IGST. The user selects the tax group.
Yes. Skyline Nexus ERP lets an Imphal trader keep the shop and the store as separate locations, move stock between them and print location-wise stock reports. Each final sale and purchase posts to the ledger once auto-posting is on, and receivables ageing lists overdue retailers.
Skyline Nexus ERP suits a Manipur handloom workshop that wants to record yarn and dye purchases, define bills of materials for each product, issue material against work orders and value finished shawls at cost. Indian payroll for weavers is not available.
No, not yet. A supplier in Manipur above INR 5 crore must report B2B invoices to the IRP for an IRN, and Skyline Nexus ERP has no IRP connection today. E-way bills and GSTR returns are not available yet either.
For a Manipur shop the difference is where the books end up. Billing apps typically print the GST bill and update stock, and an accountant later builds the ledger. In Skyline Nexus ERP each final sale already carries its journal for sales, tax, cost of goods and stock once auto-posting is on, so the balance sheet is ready when the owner asks. GST filing tools are not in Skyline Nexus yet.
Skyline Nexus ERP runs in English and offers a Hindi interface translation. Businesses in Manipur keep accounts in INR, show dates as dd-mm-yyyy and print invoice amounts in words using lakh and crore. Staff who prefer English can keep the default interface, and each user can be limited to the locations given to them.
