Mizoram at a glance
Aizawl dominates business in Mizoram. Bara Bazar along the ridge sells groceries, clothes and household goods, while Dawrpui and Zarkawt hold shops, offices and hotels. Lunglei serves the south, Kolasib sits on the road to Silchar through which most goods arrive, and Champhai looks towards Myanmar, with border trade at Zokhawthar. Freight costs shape almost every price.
Businesses in Mizoram register for GST and deal with the Taxation Department, Government of Mizoram, and many also follow schemes of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region. Because suppliers are far away, owners keep larger stocks and longer credit lines. Skyline Nexus ERP lets an Aizawl owner see stock, dues and profit for each shop in one ledger.
Much of Mizoram is covered in bamboo, and the hills also grow ginger, turmeric, Mizo chilli, oranges and anthurium flowers. Growers sell to collectors, who grade, pack and send produce by road towards Silchar and Guwahati. Bamboo units turn culms into furniture, handicrafts and building material, often with seasonal orders from government programmes.
In Skyline Nexus ERP a Mizoram collector can record purchases from many growers, keep graded stock per godown and value sales with FIFO costing. A bamboo workshop can use manufacturing work orders and bills of materials to track material per item and the cost of finished goods, while the CRM records buyers, proposals and follow-ups.
Government departments buy a large share of what Mizoram businesses sell: stationery, furniture, computers, medicines, vehicles and building works. A supplier in Aizawl tenders, delivers against supply orders, and then waits for bills to be cleared, sometimes for months. Knowing exactly what each department owes, and what each contract earned, is the core of the job.
Skyline Nexus ERP helps by treating each supply order or works contract as a project with tasks, milestones and a budget. Purchases post to the ledger once auto-posting is on, receivables ageing lists unpaid bills by department, and cost centres show margins per contract. The Audit Pack gives the accountant one Excel workbook of statements, journals and ledgers.
Take a family shop in Bara Bazar with a second outlet in Lunglei. Typical billing apps print GST bills and keep stock counts, though the books are often maintained separately and the trial balance is rebuilt at month or year end. Credit-book apps track customer dues, not stock or a full ledger. Separate accounting packages keep good books, yet each sale is entered twice.
Skyline Nexus ERP removes that second entry. Once Auto-post Sales Transactions is switched on, each final POS sale in Mizoram posts a balanced journal for sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory, and purchases, payments and expenses post likewise. Trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet can be read for Aizawl, Lunglei or both. Other tools are ahead today on GST filing.
India tax integration
Mizoram has GST State code 15: every GSTIN registered in Mizoram starts with 15. Sales inside Mizoram carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.
E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.
E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.
Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.
Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

Every GSTIN in Mizoram opens with State code 15. A sale within Mizoram carries CGST and SGST at half the rate each, and goods sent to Assam or any other State carry IGST at the full rate. Mizoram is a special-category State, so registration is due above INR 10 lakh aggregate turnover instead of INR 20 lakh, and the INR 40 lakh goods-only threshold does not apply.
Skyline Nexus ERP applies GST through tax groups you create, such as CGST 9% + SGST 9% or IGST 18%, with the intra-State or inter-State group chosen by the user and an HSN column printed from the category code. Suppliers above INR 5 crore must get IRNs for B2B invoices, which Skyline Nexus ERP does not do yet, and GSTR returns are not prepared yet.
Mizoram businesses start by joining the India waitlist from this page; a demo or a WhatsApp message comes next. It helps to arrive with a spreadsheet of products and opening stock per Aizawl or Lunglei outlet, the list of departments, customers and suppliers with GSTIN and amounts outstanding, and the chart of accounts the accountant keeps today.
Skyline Nexus ERP is then configured for an April-to-March financial year, rupees, dd-mm-yyyy dates and invoice totals written in lakh and crore. Because the software lives in the cloud, a shop on the Aizawl ridge needs a steady connection. Questions go to the support team by WhatsApp, phone or e-mail, as there is no office in India.
A business in Mizoram must take GST registration once aggregate turnover in a financial year passes INR 10 lakh, the lower limit set for special-category States; most other States use INR 20 lakh. Goods traders in Mizoram get no INR 40 lakh relief. A shop below the limit can still start on Skyline Nexus ERP and add tax groups later.
A Mizoram GSTIN starts with State code 15. Skyline Nexus ERP records the GSTIN on each contact, so staff can choose CGST plus SGST for a buyer inside Mizoram or IGST for a buyer in another State. The tax group is chosen by the user, not switched automatically.
Yes. An Aizawl supplier can set up each supply order as a project in Skyline Nexus ERP, post purchases and sales to the ledger once auto-posting is on, and use receivables ageing to see which department owes how much and for how long.
Skyline Nexus ERP suits a Mizoram bamboo workshop that wants bills of materials per product, manufacturing work orders, finished goods valued at cost and sales posted with cost of goods. Indian payroll for workers is not available, so wages are recorded as expenses.
No, not yet. Skyline Nexus ERP does not generate e-way bills, IRN e-invoices or GSTR returns today, so Mizoram traders keep using the government portals for those while running billing, stock and books in Skyline Nexus ERP. India onboarding is by waitlist.
An Aizawl shop on a billing app gets printed bills and a stock count, but its accountant usually rebuilds the ledger at year end from exported sales. Skyline Nexus ERP turns each final sale into a balanced journal as soon as auto-posting is enabled, so a Mizoram owner can open the trial balance or balance sheet for any outlet on any day. Billing apps may lead on GST return tools today.
Skyline Nexus ERP has an English interface, which many Mizoram teams prefer, and a Hindi interface translation is available too. Accounts are kept in INR, dates show as dd-mm-yyyy, and invoices can print amounts in words in lakh and crore.
Skyline Nexus ERP is a cloud service run by Skyline Industrial Solution. We have no office in Mizoram; support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail.
