Tripura at a glance
Agartala carries most of Tripura's commerce, from the stalls of Maharajganj Bazar and Battala to wholesalers who supply district towns such as Udaipur and Dharmanagar. The Bodhjungnagar Industrial Growth Centre near the capital hosts processing units, gas fields feed power stations and their contractors, and the integrated check post at Agartala handles trade with Bangladesh.
Traders in Tripura register for GST and deal with the Taxes and Excise Organisation, while factories look to the Industries and Commerce Department and to the Tripura Industrial Development Corporation for land and sheds. Cross-border consignments pass the Land Ports Authority of India check post. Skyline Nexus ERP keeps each shop, godown or unit as a location with its own stock and numbering.
Natural rubber covers large parts of Tripura's hills, and many families tap their own holdings and sell sheets to local dealers. Dealers grade, store and send rubber to processors and buyers outside the State, while Queen pineapple, tea and bamboo add other seasonal trades. Prices move week to week, so a dealer needs to know the cost of every lot held.
A rubber dealer in Tripura can enter purchases from growers in Skyline Nexus ERP, keep stock by grade at each godown and use FIFO costing so each sale carries the cost of the lot it came from. Purchases and sales post to the ledger once auto-posting is on, and the CRM records processors and outside buyers with follow-ups.
Units at Bodhjungnagar and other estates turn rubber, bamboo, fruit and other local materials into finished goods, often selling to buyers in Assam, West Bengal and beyond. A small processor buys raw material in season, runs batches, and must show lenders and the department a clean set of accounts when it applies for support.
Skyline Nexus ERP gives a Tripura unit manufacturing work orders, bills of materials and routings to plan each batch, with finished goods valued at cost. CMMS maintenance and asset management log machine work orders, cost centres split product lines, and the Audit Pack exports trial balance, balance sheet, profit and loss, journals and ledgers into one Excel workbook.
Picture a Battala grocery wholesaler serving shops in Udaipur and Dharmanagar. Typical billing apps print GST bills and track stock counts, but the books are often kept apart and the trial balance is rebuilt at month or year end. Credit-book apps show who owes what, not stock or purchases. Separate accounting packages keep sound books, though counter sales are typed in again.
Skyline Nexus ERP closes that gap. When an administrator turns on Auto-post Sales Transactions, each final sale in Tripura posts a balanced journal for sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory, and purchases, payments and expenses post alike. The owner can read trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet per branch. Other tools are ahead today on GST return preparation.
India tax integration
Tripura has GST State code 16: every GSTIN registered in Tripura starts with 16. Sales inside Tripura carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.
E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.
E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.
Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.
Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

State code 16 leads every GSTIN issued in Tripura. A sale inside Tripura carries CGST plus SGST at half the rate each, and rubber sent to a buyer in Assam or Kerala carries IGST at the full rate. Tripura is a special-category State, so registration is due once turnover exceeds INR 10 lakh, and goods suppliers have no INR 40 lakh threshold to fall back on.
Skyline Nexus ERP lets you build tax groups such as CGST 9% + SGST 9% or IGST 18%, pick the intra-State or inter-State group on each invoice and print an HSN column from the category code. Suppliers above INR 5 crore need an IRN for B2B invoices, which Skyline Nexus ERP does not obtain yet, and e-way bills and GSTR returns are not available yet.
A rubber dealer or Agartala wholesaler joins through the India waitlist on this page, then books a demo or asks a question on WhatsApp. Useful homework first: rubber grades and other items with opening quantities per godown in a CSV file, growers, buyers and suppliers with their GSTIN and balances, and the accounts the business already uses.
During setup Skyline Nexus ERP takes April as the first month of the financial year, INR as currency, dd-mm-yyyy dates and amounts in words in lakh and crore. Every counter in Agartala, Udaipur or Dharmanagar needs internet, since the system runs in the cloud. Help arrives by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail; there is no office in India.
Tripura counts as a special-category State, so GST registration is compulsory once aggregate turnover goes past INR 10 lakh in a financial year, half the general INR 20 lakh. Goods-only suppliers in Tripura cannot use the INR 40 lakh limit. Skyline Nexus ERP can be adopted before or after registration.
A Tripura GSTIN begins with State code 16. Skyline Nexus ERP stores that GSTIN on each contact, so staff can pick CGST plus SGST for a buyer inside Tripura or IGST for one elsewhere. The tax group is chosen by the user rather than switched automatically.
Yes. A rubber dealer in Tripura can hold sheets by grade at each godown in Skyline Nexus ERP and use FIFO costing, so every sale carries the cost of the lot it came from. Grower purchases and sales post to the ledger once auto-posting is switched on.
Skyline Nexus ERP suits a Bodhjungnagar unit that needs bills of materials, manufacturing work orders, maintenance work orders for machines and finished goods valued at cost. Indian payroll is not available, so wages are handled outside and posted as expenses.
No, not yet. Skyline Nexus ERP does not generate e-way bills, IRN e-invoices or GSTR returns, so a Tripura trader moving goods to Bangladesh or other States still uses the government portals for those documents. India onboarding is by waitlist and demo.
In a Tripura shop a billing app usually covers the bill and the stock count, and someone rebuilds the accounts later. Skyline Nexus ERP records every final sale as a balanced journal once auto-posting is enabled, so trial balance and balance sheet are current for each branch. Billing apps may offer GST return features Skyline Nexus lacks today.
Skyline Nexus ERP runs in English and offers a Hindi interface translation for Tripura staff who want it. Books are kept in INR, dates show as dd-mm-yyyy and invoices can print the total in words in lakh and crore, the way customers expect.
Skyline Nexus ERP is a cloud service run by Skyline Industrial Solution. We have no office in Tripura; support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail.
