Uttarakhand at a glance
Uttarakhand's economy splits between the hills and the plains. Up in the mountains, pilgrim traffic on the Char Dham routes and hill stations such as Mussoorie and Nainital sustain hotels, homestays, dhabas and travel operators. Down in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar, SIIDCUL estates at Haridwar, Pantnagar near Rudrapur and Sitarganj, along with Kashipur, host pharma, FMCG, automotive and packaging plants.
Businesses take GST registration through the GST portal under the Uttarakhand State administration, deal with the district administrations of Haridwar or Udham Singh Nagar on local matters, and work with the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board on tourism schemes. Owners with sites both in the hills and the plains find it hard to see one set of figures.
Tourism in Uttarakhand runs on sharp seasons. Yatra months bring crowds to Haridwar, Rishikesh and the routes to Kedarnath and Badrinath, while winter quietens many hill towns. A hotel group may own a property in Rishikesh, a lodge on the yatra route and a restaurant in Mussoorie, buying provisions in bulk and staffing up for a few busy months.
Skyline Nexus ERP sets up each property and restaurant as a business location with its own invoice series, payment methods and stock. The restaurant POS covers kitchen features and cash registers, purchases of provisions post to the books, and the P&L can be filtered per property, so an owner sees which Uttarakhand site earned its keep this season.
The plains host contract manufacturers and suppliers to larger brands. A packaging unit in Pantnagar or a formulation plant in Haridwar buys materials from other States, converts them through several stages and sends finished goods out of Uttarakhand, so most sales cross a State border and the cost of every batch matters.
Skyline Nexus ERP provides manufacturing work orders, bills of materials and routings, with purchases, goods receipts and stock per location in the same system. Cost centres split lines or plants, FIFO or LIFO costing feeds the cost of goods, and the CMMS module schedules preventive maintenance on machines. Budget-versus-actual reports compare each unit with its plan.
An Uttarakhand hotelier with properties on the yatra route often uses a billing app at each front desk: bills print with GST and room or menu items are counted, but the books are rebuilt afterwards by an accountant. Credit-book apps help track tour operators who owe money, without purchases, stock or double-entry. A separate accounting package keeps proper books once someone types the takings in.
Skyline Nexus ERP takes a different route. With Auto-post Sales Transactions switched on, every final POS sale posts a balanced journal for sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory, and purchases, supplier payments and expenses post the same way. The trial balance, P&L and balance sheet stay current per property or consolidated. Other providers are ahead today on GST returns.
India tax integration
Uttarakhand has GST State code 05: every GSTIN registered in Uttarakhand starts with 05. Sales inside Uttarakhand carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.
E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.
E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.
Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.
Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

Uttarakhand GSTINs begin with State code 05. Supplies within Uttarakhand carry CGST plus SGST at half the rate each, and supplies to Uttar Pradesh, Delhi or any other State carry IGST. Registration is due above INR 20 lakh aggregate turnover, and the INR 40 lakh threshold for goods-only suppliers does not apply in Uttarakhand, so goods suppliers also use INR 20 lakh.
Skyline Nexus ERP keeps rates as tax groups, such as CGST 9% + SGST 9% or IGST 18%, chosen by the user for each intra-State or inter-State sale, and HSN can print from the category code. A SIIDCUL plant above INR 5 crore must report B2B invoices to the IRP for an IRN, which Skyline Nexus ERP does not do yet, and e-way bills are not available.
Access for Indian businesses is through the India waitlist on this page and a demo, using Join the waitlist, Book a demo or Ask on WhatsApp. Support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail, with no office in India. Skyline Nexus ERP is a cloud service and needs a working connection at each counter, which matters at remote hill properties.
Prepare item and menu lists with opening stock in CSV, contacts with GSTIN and opening balances, a chart of accounts and your branch list. The financial year starts in April, the currency is INR, dates follow dd-mm-yyyy and amounts in words use lakh and crore.
Every GSTIN registered in Uttarakhand starts with State code 05. Skyline Nexus ERP records the GSTIN on the business and each contact, so supplier and customer numbers print on documents and remain available for the accountant's checks. The code also tells buyers where you are registered.
No. The INR 40 lakh registration threshold for goods-only suppliers does not apply in Uttarakhand, so goods suppliers there register above INR 20 lakh aggregate turnover, like service providers. Skyline Nexus ERP keeps the sales records, while registration is done on the GST portal.
Skyline Nexus ERP can run each hotel and restaurant as a separate location with its own invoice series, stock and payment methods, and a restaurant POS with kitchen features. An Uttarakhand group can compare properties in a branch-filtered P&L. A stable internet connection is needed because offline billing is not supported.
Skyline Nexus ERP includes manufacturing work orders, bills of materials and routings, purchases and stock per location, plus CMMS maintenance. A Haridwar plant in Uttarakhand can cost batches and track machines. Plants above INR 5 crore still need IRP reporting, which is not available in Skyline Nexus ERP yet.
A billing app often prints bills and counts items while the books are kept elsewhere. Skyline Nexus ERP posts each final sale, purchase and expense to a double-entry ledger once auto-posting is switched on, so an Uttarakhand hotel sees its trial balance during the season. Some billing apps are ahead on GST returns, which Skyline Nexus does not prepare yet.
Skyline Nexus ERP runs in English and a Hindi interface translation is available, useful for front-desk and store staff across Uttarakhand. The business currency is INR, dates use dd-mm-yyyy, and invoices can write totals in words in lakh and crore.
An Uttarakhand business joins the India waitlist on this page or books a demo, and can ask questions on WhatsApp first. Skyline Nexus ERP imports products, opening stock, contacts and the chart of accounts from CSV files, so bring them to the demo.
Skyline Nexus ERP is a cloud service run by Skyline Industrial Solution. We have no office in Uttarakhand; support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail.
