Düsseldorf at a glance
Düsseldorf, the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, has around 620,000 residents, and the IHK Düsseldorf counts roughly 103,000 member companies across the city and the neighbouring Kreis Mettmann. Fashion labels and boutiques line the Königsallee, telecom and digital firms sit in the Medienhafen, Derendorf mixes offices with new residential quarters, and Messe Düsseldorf in Stockum draws exhibitors from all over the world.
Many Düsseldorf companies are subsidiaries or branches of international groups, so their accounts must satisfy both the local Finanzamt, through ELSTER, and a head office abroad. Skyline Nexus ERP keeps one ledger per company in euros, issues invoices in other currencies where a customer needs them, and can consolidate several companies of a group into one set of statements.
A Düsseldorf fashion business often runs a boutique on the Königsallee, an outlet elsewhere in the city and a showroom where trade buyers place seasonal orders. Skyline Nexus ERP gives each of them its own stock, invoice numbering and price group, and products can carry variations such as size and colour, so a buyer's order and a shop's stock count refer to the same items.
Showroom orders become sales orders, proformas and delivery notes before the invoice, and buyers from other EU countries receive invoices with both VAT IDs. Counter sales in the boutique are a different matter: German law requires a cash register with a TSE, which Skyline Nexus does not provide, so the shop keeps a TSE-equipped till and posts its daily takings into the ledger.
Telecom installers and IT service companies in Düsseldorf spend their days at customer sites: fitting fibre connections, replacing routers, maintaining networks in offices around the Medienhafen. Skyline Nexus ERP records each job as a work order linked to the customer and the service contract, with the technician, labour, parts and any permit required, so the full cost of the job is known before the customer is invoiced.
Devices and spare parts travel in vans, so each van can be set up as its own stock location and refilled by stock transfer from the central warehouse. After installation, customer issues go into the support tickets module, and recurring maintenance for business clients is planned with PPM schedules. The margin per contract then appears in the Skyline Nexus ledger, not in a separate service tool.
Brokers, financial advisers and insurance service providers in Düsseldorf are frequently organised as a holding with several operating companies. Skyline Nexus ERP runs each company with its own chart of accounts, periods and audit trail, and the Consolidation screens combine them with ownership percentages, translate member balances into the group currency and eliminate intercompany balances for the group accounts.
Day to day, the receivables side matters most. Each client has a ledger and a statement of account in Skyline Nexus, the AR Aging Report groups open items into current and overdue buckets, and customer payments are matched against invoices as they arrive. Bank statements are imported as files and reconciled in Treasury, so fee income is confirmed against the bank, not assumed.
Compliance
Germany: invoices must carry the § 14 UStG mandatory details; Nexus generates XRechnung/ZUGFeRD e-invoices (EN 16931) for the 2027/2028 e-invoicing obligation. Nexus has no TSE, so use a separate certified till for cash-register sales.
Every invoice needs your Steuernummer or USt-IdNr., a sequential invoice number, the supply date and VAT per rate (§ 14 Abs. 4 UStG).
Invoices up to EUR 250 gross may be simplified (Kleinbetragsrechnung, § 33 UStDV) – not for intra-EU supplies or reverse charge.
Kleinunternehmer (§ 19 UStG): previous year ≤ EUR 25,000 and current year ≤ EUR 100,000 – no VAT, plus a note on the exemption.
Reverse charge invoices must state "Steuerschuldnerschaft des Leistungsempfängers"; intra-EU supplies need both VAT IDs and an exemption note.
E-invoices: all businesses must receive them since 2025; issuing is mandatory from 2027 (turnover > EUR 800,000) and from 2028 for everyone. Nexus generates XRechnung and ZUGFeRD.
Public-sector customers need XRechnung with a Leitweg-ID – enter it on the contact.
Keep invoices for 8 years (§ 14b UStG, § 147 AO); keep the e-invoice XML unaltered.
GiroCode payment QR is optional and can be switched on per invoice layout. Cash registers need a TSE (§ 146a AO) – Nexus does not provide one.
Checked 2026-10-03. Germany: full compliance guide
As of October 2026, Düsseldorf businesses charge Umsatzsteuer at 19% or 7% and put their tax number or VAT ID, a sequential number and the supply date on every invoice. Receipts up to EUR 250 gross may be simplified Kleinbetragsrechnungen. A GiroCode payment QR is optional, and in Skyline Nexus ERP it can be switched on per invoice layout. Invoices are kept for 8 years.
The e-invoicing rules are staged. Every business has had to accept e-invoices since 1 January 2025; firms whose prior-year turnover topped EUR 800,000 must issue domestic B2B e-invoices from 1 January 2027, and all others from 1 January 2028. Skyline Nexus ERP produces both XRechnung 3.0 and ZUGFeRD 2.3 output. Shop tills need a TSE under § 146a AO, which Skyline Nexus does not provide.
Retailers and fashion houses in Düsseldorf start by importing products and opening stock per shop or showroom, ICT firms by loading their customers, contracts and van stock, and finance firms by importing the chart of accounts. Customers and suppliers come in with open balances, and GL opening balances are entered on one screen that only saves when it balances.
In the free trial a Düsseldorf team can test a showroom order, a field job or a consolidation run with its own data. Support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail in English, and Skyline Nexus ERP has no Düsseldorf office. Subsidiaries that report to a group abroad, or retailers with many branches, should book a demo before migrating.
Yes. A Königsallee boutique keeps its TSE-equipped cash register for counter sales, because Skyline Nexus ERP does not provide a TSE, and posts the daily takings into Skyline Nexus. Stock per shop, purchasing from labels, invoices to business customers, transfers between branches and the general ledger then all run in one system.
Skyline Nexus ERP supports products with variations such as size and colour, held per location with their own stock. A Düsseldorf fashion wholesaler can take showroom orders as sales orders, issue proformas and delivery notes, and invoice trade buyers in other EU countries with both VAT IDs shown on the invoice.
Yes. Skyline Nexus ERP lets a Düsseldorf telecom installer record each job as a work order linked to the customer and contract, with technician, labour and parts. Service vans can be separate stock locations refilled by transfer, and after-sales issues go into support tickets, so the profit of each contract shows in the ledger.
Yes. Skyline Nexus ERP can print an optional GiroCode, the EPC payment QR code, on invoices, switched on per invoice layout. German law does not require the code, but a customer in Düsseldorf or elsewhere can scan it with a banking app to pay the exact amount, which cuts down on mistyped references.
As of October 2026, a Düsseldorf company with more than EUR 800,000 turnover in the previous year must issue domestic B2B e-invoices from 1 January 2027; every other company follows from 1 January 2028. Receiving e-invoices has been compulsory for all since 1 January 2025. Skyline Nexus ERP generates XRechnung and ZUGFeRD files for the issuing obligation.
Skyline Nexus ERP is available in English and Arabic, with interface translations for many other languages, including German and Japanese, and anything untranslated falls back to English. Each user picks a language. The books of a Düsseldorf subsidiary stay in euros, and invoices can be issued in yen or dollars at an exchange rate entered on the document.
The Skyline Nexus ERP trial is useful for a retailer if it is used to run one realistic cycle: import products with variations and opening stock for two shops, transfer goods between them, record a supplier invoice and post a day's takings. That cycle shows how branch stock and the ledger behave before the full migration is planned.
Skyline Nexus ERP is a cloud service run by Skyline Industrial Solution. We have no office in Düsseldorf; support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail.
