Frankfurt at a glance
Frankfurt has around 760,000 residents but a working population that swells every morning, because the Bankenviertel and Westend draw staff from the whole Rhine-Main region. Around the banks sit consultancies, fintechs, law and audit firms. Gateway Gardens next to the airport hosts logistics and technical service companies, Industriepark Höchst houses chemical and pharmaceutical production, and the Fechenheim industrial area mixes workshops and suppliers.
Most of these businesses are registered in the Handelsregister and belong to the IHK Frankfurt am Main. Their customers are demanding about documentation: a bank, an airline or a chemical producer expects clean invoices, contract references and an audit trail. Skyline Nexus ERP keeps contracts, work orders, invoices and journals linked, so a Frankfurt firm can answer a client's or auditor's question from one record.
Consultancies and fintech service providers in Frankfurt live on project fees and tight month-end deadlines. In Skyline Nexus ERP each engagement can be a project with milestones and a budget, and journal lines carry project and cost-centre tags, so the Budget vs Actual and Cost Center Analysis reports show where margin is earned without rebuilding the numbers in a spreadsheet.
Controls are what clients in the Bankenviertel ask about. Skyline Nexus routes manual journals above a set threshold into an approval queue, refuses postings into closed or locked periods, and records every change with user, time, old and new values in the Audit Trail. At year end the Audit Pack exports the trial balance, ledgers, sales, purchases and VAT summary into one Excel workbook.
Frankfurt Airport makes the city a cargo hub, and Gateway Gardens, the airport ring and the logistics parks of the Rhine-Main belt are full of forwarders, ground-service contractors, warehouse operators and couriers. Skyline Nexus ERP gives these firms stock per location for each warehouse or hangar, documented transfers between sites, and Free Zone or Bonded flags for locations under customs supervision.
Much of the cost sits in equipment: tugs, loaders, forklifts and vans that must be serviced on schedule. In Skyline Nexus the vehicles and ground equipment live in the asset register with depreciation, and the CMMS raises work orders from requests and from PPM schedules defined by calendar or by meter reading. Each work order records labour and parts, so the cost per customer contract is visible.
Around the chemical and pharmaceutical producers of Industriepark Höchst work contract manufacturers, laboratories, packaging firms and technical service providers. For a mid-sized supplier in this chain Skyline Nexus ERP plans production with bills of materials, routings and work orders in the MES module, and the Lot Report and Stock Expiry Report show what is held in each batch and what is close to expiry.
Technical service firms working inside the park depend on permits to work and documented maintenance. The CMMS in Skyline Nexus links each permit to a work order with hazards, controls and validity dates, and the EHS area records incidents, hazards, risk assessments and corrective actions. Batch release and GMP documentation stay in the producer's own quality systems; the ERP keeps the commercial and maintenance records.
Compliance
Germany: invoices must carry the § 14 UStG mandatory details; Nexus generates XRechnung/ZUGFeRD e-invoices (EN 16931) for the 2027/2028 e-invoicing obligation. Nexus has no TSE, so use a separate certified till for cash-register sales.
Every invoice needs your Steuernummer or USt-IdNr., a sequential invoice number, the supply date and VAT per rate (§ 14 Abs. 4 UStG).
Invoices up to EUR 250 gross may be simplified (Kleinbetragsrechnung, § 33 UStDV) – not for intra-EU supplies or reverse charge.
Kleinunternehmer (§ 19 UStG): previous year ≤ EUR 25,000 and current year ≤ EUR 100,000 – no VAT, plus a note on the exemption.
Reverse charge invoices must state "Steuerschuldnerschaft des Leistungsempfängers"; intra-EU supplies need both VAT IDs and an exemption note.
E-invoices: all businesses must receive them since 2025; issuing is mandatory from 2027 (turnover > EUR 800,000) and from 2028 for everyone. Nexus generates XRechnung and ZUGFeRD.
Public-sector customers need XRechnung with a Leitweg-ID – enter it on the contact.
Keep invoices for 8 years (§ 14b UStG, § 147 AO); keep the e-invoice XML unaltered.
GiroCode payment QR is optional and can be switched on per invoice layout. Cash registers need a TSE (§ 146a AO) – Nexus does not provide one.
Checked 2026-10-03. Germany: full compliance guide
As of October 2026, a Frankfurt invoice must show the Steuernummer or USt-IdNr., a sequential number, the date of supply and the tax for each rate, which is 19% standard or 7% reduced. Kleinunternehmer below EUR 25,000 in the previous year and EUR 100,000 in the current year charge no VAT and print an exemption note. Invoices are retained for 8 years.
Since 1 January 2025 every German business must be able to receive e-invoices. Issuing becomes compulsory on 1 January 2027 for domestic B2B sales by firms with prior-year turnover above EUR 800,000, and on 1 January 2028 for all. Skyline Nexus ERP generates XRechnung 3.0 and ZUGFeRD 2.3, and stores the Leitweg-ID that Hessian public clients need on the contact.
A Frankfurt service firm usually begins with its chart of accounts, imported as CSV or XLSX, then customers and suppliers with open balances, then GL opening balances on a screen that must balance before saving. Logistics and chemical firms add their warehouses and plants as locations, import products and opening stock, and load vehicles and equipment through the asset import.
The free trial lets a Frankfurt team test the approval workflow, the period close and the Audit Pack before the auditors do. Support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail in English, and Skyline Nexus ERP has no Frankfurt office. Groups that consolidate several companies, or operators with many sites and machines, should book a demo so the structure is planned first.
Skyline Nexus ERP gives a Frankfurt consultancy double-entry accounting with project and cost-centre tagging, journal approvals above a threshold, period locks and an Audit Trail that records old and new values. The Audit Pack exports the main reports and ledgers into one Excel workbook for the auditor, which shortens the request list at year end.
Yes. Skyline Nexus ERP gives a Frankfurt air cargo or ground-handling firm stock per warehouse, Free Zone or Bonded locations, documented transfers and an asset register for its vehicles and equipment. The CMMS raises maintenance work orders from requests and PPM schedules, and contract costs are tracked through projects and cost centres in the same ledger.
Skyline Nexus ERP covers the commercial and operational side of a chemical supplier: bills of materials, routings and work orders in the MES module, stock per location valued by FIFO, and lot and expiry reports. Permits to work and EHS records support work on site. Batch release and GMP documentation remain in the producer's quality systems.
As of October 2026, a Frankfurt company with previous-year turnover above EUR 800,000 must issue domestic B2B e-invoices from 1 January 2027, and every other company from 1 January 2028. All companies have had to accept e-invoices since 1 January 2025. Skyline Nexus ERP generates the XRechnung and ZUGFeRD files that meet this obligation.
No. Germany has no central platform for B2B e-invoices, so the invoice goes directly from seller to buyer. Skyline Nexus ERP generates the XRechnung or ZUGFeRD file, and the seller delivers it by e-mail, portal upload or another agreed channel. Umsatzsteuer returns continue to be filed through ELSTER, using figures taken from the ledger.
Yes. Skyline Nexus ERP can issue an invoice in another currency, such as US dollars or pounds sterling, at an exchange rate entered on the document, while the ledger stays in euros. The software is available in English and Arabic, with interface translations for many other languages including German, so international teams in Frankfurt can each work in their own language.
The Skyline Nexus ERP trial lets a service company test accounting, projects, CRM, invoicing and the reporting set with its own imported contacts and chart of accounts. It is the time to try the journal approval threshold, close a test period and download the Audit Pack, so the finance team knows how month end will run before going live.
