Doing business in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh trades along its coast and its two great deltas. The Godavari districts around Bhimavaram, Eluru and Kakinada farm shrimp and fish; Guntur deals in chillies and tobacco; the Krishna delta mills rice; and Visakhapatnam, Kakinada and Krishnapatnam ship cargo abroad. Inland, Vijayawada and Tirupati distribute goods, while Sri City and Nellore host newer factories. Amaravati is the State capital.

Factories in Andhra Pradesh usually take land in parks of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, and export units may sit in the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone, administered by the Union Ministry of Commerce. GST registration is on the national portal. A typical mid-sized firm runs offices in two or three districts, so branch-wise stock and branch-wise accounts matter from the start.

Modules Andhra Pradesh businesses start with

Aquaculture and agri-trade in the delta

Aqua-feed and seed dealers, chemical suppliers and processors in West and East Godavari serve farmers on credit through a crop cycle and collect when the harvest is sold. Chilli traders in Guntur and rice millers in the Krishna delta face the same pattern: heavy buying in season, stock held for months, and large party balances to settle.

Skyline Nexus ERP supports this with stock per location, purchases against supplier contacts, credit sales with receivable ageing, and FIFO or LIFO costing so the cost of feed or paddy sold follows the lot. CRM follow-ups remind a dealer in Andhra Pradesh to collect before the next stocking. Each depot keeps its own invoice series under one company.

Port-linked exporters and suppliers

Seafood processors, mineral traders and project cargo handlers work around the ports, with clearing agents, transporters and cold chains in between. They buy in rupees, sell abroad, and must still keep a clean ledger at home. Many also run manufacturing or packing steps before shipment.

In Skyline Nexus ERP, purchases, payments and expenses post to the general ledger once auto-posting is on, and manufacturing work orders with bills of materials cover processing and packing. Cost centres split costs per plant or per contract. The ledger runs in one base currency, INR for an Indian company, so foreign-currency revaluation of export receivables is handled outside the system.

From POS to balance sheet for an aqua-feed distributor

Consider an Andhra Pradesh aqua-feed distributor with outlets in Bhimavaram, Eluru and Ongole. With typical billing apps each outlet prints GST bills and tracks bags, but the accountant rebuilds the ledger at year end from exports. Ledger-only apps record farmer credit without the stock behind it. Separate accounting packages keep proper books, while outlet sales are re-keyed into them.

In Skyline Nexus ERP, switching on Auto-post Sales Transactions makes every final sale post a balanced journal of sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory soon after saving. The distributor can then filter the trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet by outlet or view all three together. Other providers are ahead today on IRN generation, which Skyline Nexus does not do yet.

India tax integration

Taxes and compliance in India

Andhra Pradesh has GST State code 37: every GSTIN registered in Andhra Pradesh starts with 37. Sales inside Andhra Pradesh carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.

Built in today

  • GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.

  • Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.

  • Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.

  • Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.

  • An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.

  • Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.

  • With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.

  • Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.

Ready for your accountant

  • Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.

  • Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.

  • Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.

  • Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.

Coming or on request (not live today)

  • Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.

  • HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.

  • GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.

  • E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.

  • E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.

  • Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.

  • Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

GST for an Andhra Pradesh business

Every Andhra Pradesh GSTIN begins with State code 37. Sales inside the State carry CGST plus SGST at half the rate each, while sales to Telangana, Tamil Nadu or any other State carry IGST. Registration is due above INR 20 lakh turnover, but suppliers of goods only may use the INR 40 lakh threshold, except for ice cream, pan masala and tobacco.

Suppliers above INR 5 crore aggregate turnover must obtain an IRN for B2B invoices, which Skyline Nexus ERP cannot do yet. In Skyline Nexus you create tax groups, for instance CGST 9% + SGST 9% and IGST 18%, choose the right one on each sale, and print an HSN column from the category code. E-way bills, GSTR returns and place-of-supply switching are not live yet.

Getting started from Andhra Pradesh

Onboarding for India runs through the waitlist form on this page, a demo, and WhatsApp questions. A multi-district Andhra Pradesh firm should list its depots and plants as branches, prepare products and opening stock per branch in CSV, gather contacts with GSTIN and opening balances, and agree its chart of accounts with the auditor.

Skyline Nexus ERP will be set to a financial year from April, INR, dd-mm-yyyy dates and Indian amount-in-words with lakh and crore. Support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail. There is no office in India, so training is done online for each branch, starting with the busiest depot before the harvest season.

  1. Map every Andhra Pradesh depot, plant and office to a branch.
  2. Prepare opening stock per branch, including feed, seed or paddy lots.
  3. Import farmers, dealers and suppliers with GSTIN and balances.
  4. Set CGST plus SGST and IGST tax groups and test an inter-State sale.

Questions from Andhra Pradesh businesses

What is the GST State code for Andhra Pradesh?

Andhra Pradesh uses GST State code 37, so every GSTIN registered there starts with 37. Sales within Andhra Pradesh carry CGST and SGST, and sales to other States carry IGST. Skyline Nexus ERP stores the GSTIN of the business and of each contact, and you choose the matching tax group on each sale.

Can an Andhra Pradesh goods trader use the INR 40 lakh GST threshold?

Yes, in most cases. Suppliers of goods only in Andhra Pradesh may use the INR 40 lakh registration threshold, except suppliers of ice cream, pan masala and tobacco. Service providers and mixed suppliers use the INR 20 lakh threshold. Some suppliers must register regardless of turnover, so check with your tax adviser.

Does Skyline Nexus ERP suit an aqua-feed dealer in the Godavari districts?

An aqua-feed dealer in Andhra Pradesh can run each outlet as a location in Skyline Nexus ERP, sell on credit to farmers, track receivables by age, and cost bags by FIFO or LIFO. Every final sale posts to the ledger once auto-posting is on. Crop-cycle credit terms are set per contact.

Can a seafood exporter in Andhra Pradesh use Skyline Nexus ERP?

Skyline Nexus ERP covers purchases, processing through manufacturing work orders, stock and the ledger in INR. A seafood exporter in Andhra Pradesh should know that IRN e-invoicing for exports is not live yet, and the ledger is single-currency, so export compliance needs another tool until the roadmap delivers it.

How is Skyline Nexus ERP different from a billing app for an Andhra Pradesh shop?

Many billing apps issue GST bills and count stock, and the books are prepared later. Skyline Nexus ERP posts each final sale to the ledger once auto-posting is switched on, so an Andhra Pradesh shop sees its trial balance and balance sheet by branch. Billing apps may be ahead on e-way bills, which Skyline Nexus does not produce yet.

Which languages and currency does Skyline Nexus ERP offer?

Skyline Nexus ERP has an English interface and a Hindi interface translation, plus other languages. INR is available as the business currency, with dd-mm-yyyy dates and invoice amounts in words in lakh and crore. Teams in Andhra Pradesh can ask in the demo about other Indian languages.

How can an Andhra Pradesh company get access to Skyline Nexus ERP?

An Andhra Pradesh company joins the India waitlist on this page or books a demo. After the demo it imports products, opening stock, contacts and the chart of accounts from CSV into Skyline Nexus ERP, with an April financial year. Support comes by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail.
