Thiruvananthapuram at a glance
Thiruvananthapuram is the State capital, and much of its commerce follows from that. The Secretariat and State departments sit around the city centre, Technopark at Kazhakoottam holds IT services and product companies, Chalai Market and East Fort remain the old trading heart, and Pattom carries offices and showrooms. To the south, the Vizhinjam International Seaport and the Kovalam beaches shape new logistics and tourism work.
Firms here register for GST with the State administration, take a trade licence from Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation and deal with the district administration on local permits. Start-ups draw on the Kerala Startup Mission, which is based in the city. The space centre and research institutes add engineering suppliers and a large salaried population that keeps shops and clinics busy.
A Technopark services company bills clients by milestone or by month, pays subcontractors and office vendors, and reports to founders who want a monthly profit and loss. Start-ups incubated through the Startup Mission network need clean books early, because grants, investors and audits all ask for a trial balance and balance sheet they can trust.
Skyline Nexus ERP gives a Thiruvananthapuram tech firm projects with tasks, milestones and budgets, CRM for leads and proposals, expenses and supplier bills that post to the ledger, and receivable ageing per client. Cost centres split product lines or client teams, and the Audit Pack hands the auditor one Excel workbook with the year's statements, journals and ledgers.
Many Thiruvananthapuram businesses live on orders from State departments, public-sector undertakings, hospitals and colleges: stationery, computers, furniture, medical consumables, civil works. Orders are tendered, deliveries are spread across offices, and payment can take months, so the supplier needs a firm grip on what is billed, what is delivered and what is still unpaid.
Skyline Nexus ERP lets such a supplier track each large order as a project with milestones and a budget, hold stock per godown, invoice deliveries and follow receivables with ageing reports. Purchases and payments post to the ledger once posting is switched on, so a Thiruvananthapuram contractor can see the margin on each department's order in the books.
Consider a Chalai Market electrical goods dealer who supplies walk-in buyers and electricians on credit. Typical billing apps print GST bills and keep stock counts, but the books are often kept elsewhere, so the trial balance is rebuilt at month or year end. Credit-book apps note which electrician owes what, without stock or purchases. A separate accounting package keeps strong books, yet daily sales must be exported or re-keyed.
When Auto-post Sales Transactions is turned on, Skyline Nexus ERP posts every final POS bill as a balanced journal to sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory right after saving. The Thiruvananthapuram dealer sees a current trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet, and supplier bills and payments post the same way. Other providers are ahead today on GSTR preparation, which Skyline Nexus does not offer yet.
India tax integration
Kerala has GST State code 32: every GSTIN registered in Kerala starts with 32. Sales inside Kerala carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.
E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.
E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.
Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.
Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

A Thiruvananthapuram GSTIN starts with 32 for Kerala. A sale to a department in Kollam stays inside the State and carries CGST plus SGST at half the rate each, while goods sent to Nagercoil or Tirunelveli across the border carry IGST. Registration is due above INR 20 lakh turnover, or INR 40 lakh for goods-only suppliers, except ice cream, pan masala and tobacco.
Suppliers above INR 5 crore aggregate turnover must report B2B invoices to the IRP for an IRN, and Skyline Nexus ERP does not do that yet. In Skyline Nexus you set up tax groups such as CGST 9% + SGST 9% or IGST 18%, choose one per invoice and print HSN from the category code. TDS deducted by government buyers is not handled as an India feature yet.
Thiruvananthapuram firms begin with Join the waitlist on this page, Book a demo or Ask on WhatsApp. Prepare the item or service list with opening stock, client departments and suppliers with GSTIN and opening balances, the chart of accounts, any open orders you want to track as projects, and each shop or office that should be a branch.
Skyline Nexus ERP is configured with an April financial year, INR, dd-mm-yyyy dates and invoice totals in words in lakh and crore. Products, stock, contacts and the chart of accounts can be imported by CSV. Support runs by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail; Skyline has no office in India, so demos are online.
A Thiruvananthapuram firm is registered in Kerala, so its GSTIN begins with 32. Skyline Nexus ERP stores that GSTIN and the GSTIN of each customer, letting a Thiruvananthapuram supplier tell a Kerala buyer, billed CGST plus SGST, from a Tamil Nadu buyer, billed IGST. The tax group is chosen on the invoice by the user.
Not yet. Skyline Nexus ERP does not handle India TDS deductions as a dedicated feature and has no IRP connection for IRN e-invoices. A Thiruvananthapuram supplier can still track orders as projects, invoice deliveries and follow receivables, and should handle TDS and any IRN outside the software for now.
Skyline Nexus ERP offers projects with milestones and budgets, CRM, receivable ageing and cost centres, so a Technopark company in Thiruvananthapuram can bill clients, track vendor bills and read its profit and loss by team. Indian payroll is not part of the product, so salaries are processed in another tool.
Skyline Nexus ERP gives a clinic pharmacy or a Kovalam hotel restaurant POS billing, cash registers, stock per location and a ledger fed by each final sale once auto-posting is on. Hospital-specific records and room booking are not claimed here, so a Thiruvananthapuram clinic or hotel should check its needs in the demo.
For a Chalai shop, a billing app usually prints the bill and keeps the stock figure, and the accountant puts the ledger together at month end. Skyline Nexus ERP, once auto-posting is enabled, records the journal for each final sale as it happens, so a Thiruvananthapuram shop has a current trial balance. Billing apps are ahead today on offline billing, which Skyline Nexus does not support.
Skyline Nexus ERP has an English interface and a Hindi interface translation; a Malayalam interface is not claimed, so Thiruvananthapuram users should ask in the demo. Accounts are in INR, dates show as dd-mm-yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy, and invoice totals can be printed in words in lakh and crore.
A Thiruvananthapuram business joins the Skyline Nexus ERP waitlist on this page or books a demo. After the demo, products, opening stock, contacts with GSTIN and balances and the chart of accounts are imported by CSV. Support is given by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail.
