Bhopal at a glance
Bhopal mixes the work of a state capital with an older trading town. Government offices and State undertakings drive demand for supplies, works and services, while MP Nagar holds offices, coaching centres and showrooms. New Market and Chowk Bazaar draw shoppers, Bairagarh trades garments wholesale, and industry sits in Govindpura inside the city and in Mandideep just to the south.
A Bhopal business registers for GST with the Commercial Tax Department of Madhya Pradesh, works with the district administration on local licences, and looks to the Invest MP single window for industrial land at Mandideep. Contractors and suppliers to departments juggle tenders, running bills, retention money and stock, often in spreadsheets kept apart from the accounts.
Being the capital, Bhopal has a dense layer of firms that supply furniture, IT equipment, stationery, medical consumables and civil works to departments and public bodies. Payments arrive on department schedules, and a contractor needs to see what each project has cost, what has been billed and what is still pending.
Skyline Nexus ERP handles these jobs with projects, tasks, milestones and budgets, so each work order from a department can be tracked against its budget. Purchases and expenses carry cost centres, receivable ageing shows which department owes what, and the Audit Pack exports trial balance, ledgers, sales and purchases into one Excel workbook for the year's audit.
Bhopal's healthcare spans AIIMS Bhopal, medical colleges, private hospitals and a wide ring of clinics, diagnostic labs and chemists, many around Kolar Road, Arera Colony and Hamidia Road. A pharmacy owner with three counters buys from several distributors, sells for cash and on account, and must know stock at each counter.
Skyline Nexus ERP gives each pharmacy counter its own location, invoice series and stock, with purchases, supplier payments and payables ageing in the same system. Diagnostic equipment can be tracked in the asset and CMMS modules with maintenance work orders, and the CRM keeps leads and follow-ups for doctors and corporate tie-ups in Bhopal.
Picture a Bhopal firm that supplies furniture to departments and runs a showroom in MP Nagar. A typical billing app would print the GST invoice and track showroom stock, leaving the accountant to rebuild project costs and books later. A credit-book app would list which department owes what, but not timber, hardware or labour bought for each order.
A separate accounting package keeps sound books from re-entered bills. In Skyline Nexus ERP, once Auto-post Sales Transactions is turned on, each final sale posts a balanced journal across sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory, and purchases, payments and expenses do likewise, so the trial balance and balance sheet are always current per branch. GST return work is where other providers lead today.
India tax integration
Madhya Pradesh has GST State code 23: every GSTIN registered in Madhya Pradesh starts with 23. Sales inside Madhya Pradesh carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.
E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.
E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.
Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.

Bhopal GSTINs carry 23, the Madhya Pradesh State code, in front. A supply to a department or shop within Madhya Pradesh carries CGST plus SGST at half the rate each, while a supply to a buyer in Chhattisgarh or Uttar Pradesh carries IGST. Registration is due above INR 20 lakh, or INR 40 lakh for suppliers of goods only, except ice cream, pan masala and tobacco.
Skyline Nexus ERP keeps rates in tax groups such as CGST 9% + SGST 9% or IGST 18%, with the intra-State or inter-State group chosen by the user and HSN printed from the category code. Government departments are exempt from issuing e-invoices, but a Bhopal supplier above INR 5 crore must still get an IRN, which Skyline Nexus ERP does not do yet.
Bhopal firms come in through the India waitlist on this page or a demo, with the buttons Join the waitlist, Book a demo and Ask on WhatsApp. There is no office in India; support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail. Contractors often move at the start of a financial year so project ledgers begin cleanly in April.
Prepare products and opening stock in CSV, departments, customers and suppliers with GSTIN and opening balances, a chart of accounts and each showroom, store or unit as a branch. Settings use INR, dd-mm-yyyy dates and invoice amounts in words in lakh and crore. The financial year starts in April.
A Bhopal GSTIN begins with 23, the State code of Madhya Pradesh. Skyline Nexus ERP stores GSTINs on the business and on each department, customer and supplier, so they appear on documents and stay in the contact records. Out-of-State buyers see the code at once.
Not yet. A Bhopal supplier whose aggregate turnover exceeds INR 5 crore must report B2B invoices to the IRP and receive an IRN, and Skyline Nexus ERP has no IRP connection today. Government departments themselves are exempt from issuing e-invoices, but that does not exempt their suppliers. Larger suppliers should join the waitlist and keep a separate e-invoicing route until then.
Skyline Nexus ERP includes projects with tasks, milestones and budgets, plus cost centres and budget-versus-actual reports. A Bhopal works contractor can follow each department order from purchase to invoice and see what remains to be collected in receivable ageing. Each final invoice posts to the books.
Skyline Nexus ERP gives each Bhopal pharmacy counter its own location, stock and invoice series, with purchases from distributors, supplier payments and payables ageing. Each final sale posts to the books once auto-posting is switched on, and the P&L can be read per counter.
Many billing apps print the bill and track stock, with the books kept elsewhere. Skyline Nexus ERP posts each final sale, purchase and payment to a double-entry ledger once auto-posting is on, so a Bhopal shop sees its trial balance and balance sheet as it trades. Some billing apps are ahead on GST return preparation, which Skyline Nexus does not offer yet.
Skyline Nexus ERP runs in English with a Hindi interface translation available, so Bhopal staff can choose. The business currency is INR, invoices can show the amount in words in lakh and crore, and dates follow dd-mm-yyyy. Other languages are also available.
Many Bhopal businesses switch at the start of the April financial year, so opening balances come straight from the closed books. Join the India waitlist on this page or book a demo; Skyline Nexus ERP imports products, stock, contacts and the chart of accounts from CSV.
