Mysuru at a glance
Mysuru earns from visitors, crafts and factories. The palace, Chamundi Hills and the Dasara season fill hotels and restaurants; Devaraja Market and Sayyaji Rao Road sell flowers, spices, silk sarees, sandalwood and incense; and the KIADB areas at Hebbal, Hootagalli and Nanjangud host engineering, automotive suppliers and food processors. The University of Mysore and the food research institute add a steady student and staff population.
A Mysuru business registers for GST with the State administration once it passes the threshold, takes a trade licence from the city for its premises, and deals with the district administration on local permissions. The silk factory run by the State silk corporation and the State handicrafts showrooms set the tone for a crafts trade that lives on both walk-in tourists and orders from other cities.
Mysuru hospitality is seasonal. During Dasara, rooms, restaurants and caterers run at full stretch for a few weeks, then settle back to weekend tourism and business travel. A family-run hotel near the palace often owns a restaurant, a sweet counter and a banquet hall, each with its own cash, stock of provisions and supplier bills.
Skyline Nexus ERP lets each of those outlets be a location with its own cash register, invoice series and stock. Restaurant and kitchen features in the POS serve the dining room, and purchases of rice, oil and vegetables post to the ledger. With auto-posting on, the Mysuru owner can compare the restaurant's profit and loss with the banquet hall's, or see them together.
Showrooms around Sayyaji Rao Road sell silk sarees, sandalwood carvings, incense and inlay work to tourists who pay by card and want a proper bill. Many stock goods on consignment from weavers and artisans, and some ship parcels to buyers in other States after the visit, which changes the tax on the bill.
Skyline Nexus ERP tracks stock per showroom with FIFO or LIFO costing, so the cost of each saree sold reaches cost of goods. A Mysuru retailer can keep a CGST plus SGST group for counter sales and an IGST group for parcels to other States, choosing the group on the bill. CRM follow-ups help with repeat buyers who order again before the next festival.
Consider a Mysuru incense maker with a factory at Hebbal and a showroom near Devaraja Market. Typical billing apps print GST bills at the showroom and keep a stock count, but the books often sit with an accountant in another package, so the trial balance is rebuilt at month or year end. Credit-book apps record which dealer owes what, without stock or raw material purchases. Separate accounting packages keep proper books but need the sales exported or re-entered.
Once Auto-post Sales Transactions is switched on in Skyline Nexus ERP, every final POS sale posts a balanced journal to sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory, and purchases of charcoal powder, perfume and packaging post too. The Mysuru maker reads a current trial balance and balance sheet, by factory or showroom. Other providers are ahead today on e-way bill generation, which Skyline Nexus does not offer yet.
India tax integration
Karnataka has GST State code 29: every GSTIN registered in Karnataka starts with 29. Sales inside Karnataka carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.
E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.
E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.
Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.
Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

A Mysuru GSTIN starts with 29, like every Karnataka registration. A hotel bill or a saree sold over the counter in Mysuru carries CGST plus SGST at half the rate each; a parcel sent to a buyer in Kerala carries IGST. Registration applies above INR 20 lakh turnover, and goods-only suppliers may use INR 40 lakh, except ice cream, pan masala and tobacco.
Mysuru manufacturers above INR 5 crore aggregate turnover must obtain an IRN for B2B invoices, and Skyline Nexus ERP cannot generate IRNs yet. In Skyline Nexus you build tax groups such as CGST 9% + SGST 9% or IGST 18% and choose one per bill, and an HSN column can print from the category code. GSTR returns are not prepared by the software yet.
A Mysuru business starts with Join the waitlist on this page, Book a demo or Ask on WhatsApp. Gather the item list with opening stock per hotel store, showroom or factory, guests on credit, dealers and suppliers with GSTIN and opening balances, the chart of accounts, and each outlet or plant you want as a branch.
Skyline Nexus ERP is then set to a financial year from April, INR, dd-mm-yyyy dates and invoice totals written in lakh and crore. Products, stock and contacts load through CSV import. Support comes by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail in English; Skyline has no office in India, so a Mysuru owner meets the team online.
A Mysuru hotel registers under Karnataka, so its GSTIN begins with 29. Room and restaurant bills to guests in Mysuru carry CGST plus SGST. In Skyline Nexus ERP the hotel sets up those tax groups once and picks them on each bill, because automatic switching by place of supply is not available.
A Mysuru craft shop must register when aggregate turnover crosses INR 20 lakh in a financial year, or INR 40 lakh if it supplies goods only, with exceptions such as ice cream, pan masala and tobacco. Some sellers must register regardless of turnover. Skyline Nexus ERP works before and after registration.
Skyline Nexus ERP gives a Mysuru restaurant cash registers, kitchen features and stock per outlet, so extra counters can be added as locations for the festival weeks. With auto-posting switched on, each final bill reaches the ledger, and the owner sees the season's profit and loss by outlet. A live connection is required, since offline billing is not supported.
Skyline Nexus ERP includes manufacturing work orders, bills of material and routings, with FIFO or LIFO costing and stock per location. A Mysuru-area unit in Nanjangud or Hebbal can issue raw material, record finished goods and sell to dealers in the same system as its books. Indian payroll is not included.
Many billing apps print bills and count stock, and the books are kept elsewhere and rebuilt later. Skyline Nexus ERP, with auto-posting on, posts each final sale to sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory, so a Mysuru shop has current books. Billing apps are ahead today on IRN e-invoicing, which Skyline Nexus does not do yet.
Skyline Nexus ERP has an English interface and a Hindi interface translation; a Mysuru team that prefers Kannada should raise it in the demo. Accounts are kept in INR, dates show as dd-mm-yyyy, and invoice totals can be written in words using lakh and crore.
A Mysuru business joining Skyline Nexus ERP prepares its products with opening stock, contacts with GSTIN and opening balances, a chart of accounts and its list of outlets or plants. These load by CSV import after the demo. Access in India is through the waitlist, and support runs by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail.
Skyline Nexus ERP is a cloud service run by Skyline Industrial Solution. We have no office in Mysuru; support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail.
