Coimbatore at a glance
The Coimbatore district administration describes the city as one of the most industrialised in Tamil Nadu and the textile capital of South India. That shows on the ground: foundries and pump assemblers around Ganapathy and Kurichi, spinning mills on the outskirts, wet-grinder makers in small sheds, and showrooms and offices along Avinashi Road, Gandhipuram and Peelamedu.
A Coimbatore firm takes its trade licence from the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation, and larger investors usually approach Guidance Tamil Nadu. Many units are family-run, with the founder pricing jobs from memory and an accountant closing the books at year end. The pressure point is costing: knowing what a pump, a casting or a bale of yarn really cost once material and labour are counted.
A Coimbatore pump maker buys castings, stampings, copper winding wire and bearings, assembles in batches and ships to dealers across India. A foundry melts against customer patterns and has to track rejections. Both live on work orders and component lists, and both quote prices that only make sense if the material cost per unit is known.
Skyline Nexus ERP covers this with manufacturing work orders, bills of materials and routings. Components are consumed from stock valued by FIFO or LIFO, and that value becomes cost of goods when the finished pump or casting is invoiced. Maintenance work orders keep lathes and furnaces on schedule, and cost centres separate the assembly shop from the foundry in the same Coimbatore business.
Coimbatore yarn traders and mill agents deal in counts, lots and bales, sell on credit to knitters in Tiruppur and weavers elsewhere, and buy from several mills at once. Prices move with cotton, so the margin on a lot depends on when it was bought and what it cost when it arrived at the godown.
Skyline Nexus ERP records purchases and sales per business location, keeps stock by product and lot cost, and applies FIFO or LIFO to work out cost of goods. Customer balances and ageing reports show which Coimbatore or Tiruppur buyer is overdue, and the CRM module keeps follow-ups and proposals for new mill or knitting customers in the same place.
Consider a Coimbatore dealer selling motors and pumps over the counter on Avinashi Road while also assembling a house brand. Typical billing apps print GST bills and track stock, yet the books often sit in a spreadsheet or an accountant's package, so the trial balance is rebuilt at year end. Credit-book apps remember dues from farmers and plumbers, but not stock or a full ledger.
Separate accounting packages keep good books, though counter sales must be exported or typed in again. With Skyline Nexus ERP, once Auto-post Sales Transactions is switched on, every final sale posts a balanced journal for sales, output tax, cost of goods and inventory; purchases, payments and expenses follow the same route, and manufacturing sits in the same system.
India tax integration
Tamil Nadu has GST State code 33: every GSTIN registered in Tamil Nadu starts with 33. Sales inside Tamil Nadu carry CGST + SGST; sales to another State carry IGST. A branch in another State needs its own GSTIN and the right place of supply on each invoice: in Skyline Nexus ERP you choose the intra-State or inter-State tax group on the sale.
GST rates in force since 22 September 2025 (5%, 18%, 40%; 0.25%, 1.5% and 3% for stones and jewellery) and older rates for past periods; a cess as an extra component of a tax group.
Tax groups combining CGST + SGST (or UTGST) into one rate, plus IGST rates, set per product and chosen per sale.
Prices entered tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive per product; the POS works out the tax either way.
Your GSTIN as the business tax number and the customer's GSTIN on the contact record, both printed on invoices.
An HSN column on invoices from the product category code, an editable invoice heading (for example "Tax Invoice" or "Bill of Supply") and a receipt design that prints each tax component in its own column.
Credit notes for sales returns, debit notes for sales and purchases, and purchase returns.
With auto-posting on, every final sale, return, purchase and expense posts output or input tax to its own ledger account, matching the tax report.
Branches with their own invoice numbering and invoice layout; a branch's own GSTIN can be printed on its invoices from a location field.
Tax report: input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses for any period, branch or contact.
Trial balance, general ledger and day book with the input and output tax accounts, exported to Excel or PDF.
Audit Pack: one Excel workbook with trial balance, balance sheet, P&L, journals, sales, purchases and a ledger tax summary.
Sales and purchase lists your chartered accountant can use to prepare GST returns. Skyline Nexus ERP does not file returns itself.
Automatic CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
HSN and SAC codes per item with validation, and separate B2B, B2C and export invoice types.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B style summaries and input tax credit matching: ask us.
E-invoicing through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRN and signed QR): the India connector is built but not live. Ask us for your go-live date.
E-way bills and direct filing on the GST portal.
Reverse-charge marking for India, TDS and TCS.
Indian payroll items (PF, ESI, professional tax) are not offered: payroll in Skyline Nexus ERP is built for Saudi Arabia.

Coimbatore businesses register under Tamil Nadu, so their GSTIN opens with 33. A pump sold to a dealer in Erode or Salem carries CGST plus SGST at half the rate each, while one dispatched to Kerala or Karnataka carries IGST. The registration threshold is INR 20 lakh, with the INR 40 lakh threshold open to suppliers of goods only, apart from ice cream, pan masala and tobacco.
Skyline Nexus ERP keeps GST as tax groups you define, such as CGST 9% plus SGST 9% or IGST 18%, and you select the group on each invoice; an HSN column can be printed from the category code. Coimbatore manufacturers above INR 5 crore turnover must register B2B invoices with the IRP, which Skyline Nexus cannot do yet, and e-way bills are not available until a later release.
Skyline Nexus ERP onboarding in India runs through the waitlist on this page and a demo, with the buttons Join the waitlist, Book a demo and Ask on WhatsApp. A Coimbatore manufacturer should bring its item master with opening stock as CSV, its main bills of materials, customers and suppliers with GSTIN and opening balances, and its chart of accounts.
A Coimbatore company usually has its auditor close the year in March, so Skyline Nexus is set to an April financial year, with INR, dd-mm-yyyy dates and invoice amounts in words in lakh and crore. Period locks keep a closed month from being changed. Support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail; there is no Coimbatore or India office.
Skyline Nexus ERP includes manufacturing with bills of materials, routings and work orders. A Coimbatore pump manufacturer can define components such as castings, winding wire and bearings, consume them from stock on each work order, and see cost of goods posted when the finished pumps are invoiced.
Skyline Nexus ERP keeps stock with lot costs under FIFO or LIFO and records credit sales against customer accounts with ageing reports. A Coimbatore yarn trader can see which Tiruppur knitter owes money and what each sold lot cost. Weighted-average costing is not offered.
A Coimbatore manufacturer charges IGST on goods sent to Kerala, because the supply crosses from Tamil Nadu into another State. Inside Tamil Nadu it charges CGST plus SGST. In Skyline Nexus ERP the user picks the IGST or CGST plus SGST tax group; automatic place-of-supply switching is not built yet.
A manufacturer in Coimbatore with aggregate turnover above INR 5 crore must obtain an IRN for B2B invoices, and Skyline Nexus ERP does not connect to the IRP yet, so such businesses should join the waitlist rather than switch now. Smaller units below the threshold are not affected by this rule.
A billing app for a Coimbatore shop typically prints GST bills and counts stock, with the books often kept in a separate accounting package. Skyline Nexus ERP, once auto-posting is switched on, turns every final sale into a balanced journal and also runs manufacturing, so production and accounts share one record.
Skyline Nexus ERP uses English by default and offers a Hindi interface translation among other languages, which helps when workers from northern States join a Coimbatore shop floor. Coimbatore users work in INR, can choose dd-mm-yyyy dates and can print invoice amounts in words in lakh and crore.
Skyline Nexus ERP imports products, opening stock, contacts with opening balance and GSTIN, sales, purchases and the chart of accounts from CSV files. A Coimbatore firm joining from the India waitlist prepares those files before the demo, so setup starts from real figures.
Skyline Nexus ERP is a cloud service run by Skyline Industrial Solution. We have no office in Coimbatore; support is by WhatsApp, phone and e-mail.
